Just wanted to know what you thought of your Lightning?? I am looking into getting one but would like to see one run; you have the only video on youtube of it. I need something that will keep up with my friends Associated TC3 with a Traxxas 2.5R, think a Lighting could hang?? I can keep up pretty decent if I put down perfect laps in my Tornado BB. How would the Lightning compare to the Tornado BB on the street??? The only thing that concerns me is the smaller engine in the Lightning. Would love to hear your thoughts considering you own both.

I am open to comments from anyone else that owns a Lightning.

i am very happy with it, it handles well and has good power, i will post another video of it for you that i have on photobucket too. Dont worry about the smaller engine, its still .01 bigger than the 2.5, the 2.5 is actually .15. I am sure you could hang with the tc3, especially on a track, i own a tc3 also.

here's a link to the video.

yes, it the stock lightning, nothing done to it. Its pretty powerful and handles well. I like 2 speed in my onroads but not on my off roads unless its the jato or tmaxx.

Thank you for clearing that up on engine size. I assumed it was a .25 because of the massive head. Thats wild how thay get that much power out of a little .15. That is a much better video. It appears to be a fun little runner, I'll have to pick one up and give it a try. Were you running stock tires in the video??

The stock tires on it are pretty nice and seem to last for awhile, pick up a set of drift tires as well as you can have alot of fun with them!

Have you ever run foam tires on yours??? My buddy just started running foams on his TC3 and it grips great. The tires are actually quite a bit wide then the stock tires he had. They wear pretty quick but at $10 a set you cant complain too much.

I agree foam do grip, but wear fast. I used to run foam sets, but the way i like to drive it ended up costing me plenty in the long run. Tires for the on-road cars can be pretty cheap to buy anyways and the ones that come with it are pretty good. It is going to depend on what type of driving you plan on doing with this, if you like doing burnouts and things of that nature use the stock tires. If you wanna do some drifting get a set of them and if you want to do some racing get the foams! Best best if to have several sets so you can change them out to the way you feel like driving.

That i am unsure of, because i have nothing to check it with. It's pretty quick, drop in the SH .18 motor and it will be even quicker!

those in the video were stock but i raced it on a track a few times and had to get new tires, which is normal. the stock tires grip real well.

nothing grips better than foam but they are only good on the tracks, on streets and parking lots they can get knicked up real quick, i only race using foams on my onroads but you just cant beat the grip.
