Well I must say at first it was prety cool. Swashplate adjustment never worked. could not get it level. Broken rear tail boom ( cheep plastic) while trying to adjust swashplate, broke landing gear. any info out their on how to level the swashplate on the 5G6? The instruction photo is so small, not sure what to do. the heli would just tip over. I did get it some what level however it would fly in slow 5 foot circle. Looks like 127.00 + 42.00 in parts down the drain. any other micro helis out their. I was hoping this one would work out.

micron v2 from percersion heli? any good.

thanks,

Rob

same boat.

you will never get the swash even though, just get the two ball connector bases level with the swash and the pin by turning in and out. i just got it so it hovers nicely.

your talking about tbe, get the tracking correct by turning the fly bar link so the blades when spun up follow on the same path, usually you will see only a little metal from the screw.
but once you get it working, it flys great and it is really fun.

mine blew up on day 3, the RX randomly failed.

It is sometimes tough to get these helis up and running, but once you do they work great, if you don't break it in the process. I love mine though, and keeping modifying it along the way, starting w/ the tail. I will say that you can buy spare parts for cheap from highvolt-heil.com. You could have gotten the Heli there too. This is a great place to buy from, highly reccomended.

Keep at it !!! My 5-6 was tough at first, just a click on the transmitter can upset the characteristics, but it is worth it - mine is so stable now, I can follow it from room to room, figure eights, it just takes tme spent trimming it and using very tiny stick inputs.

Thanks all for responding. Got my parts in. Could not get the screw out of the bracket that holds landing sytem. One of the screws is stripped. While putting linkage, on I broke swash plate ball. so noe I nee a new body, landing gear, and a swash plate. So I decided to get a Blade CX2. Great product. So my experence with the 5G6 was not cool. Decided not to spend more money on the 5G6. Having a great time with CX2

It can be very disheartening - I lost interest in my 5-8 for similar reasons, took a break from it for a while, and went back to it a few months later. I had considered selling it off, but stuck with it and it flies now. The micro helis are very tough to get dialed in, I crashed mine into everything in sight at first, but bit by bit got my arms around it. It is not a good starter heli, very responsive (maybe too responsive at first).

I'm a firm believer that walkera isn't for everybody. I've had great luck with the ones I've had, except for the 4 which was a nightmare to set up correctly. I love the 5G4 and 5-4. Tracking was super easy to set on them too, just adjust the bar on top until it no longer vibrates. One thing you guys might try doing is unscrewing the sticks on the controller, flipping them upside down and screwing them back in place. This makes them longer and subsequently, your movements will be more subtle. Also, I've had better luck by slightly bending out the little metal tab on the throttle (inside the controller) to make the ratcheting movement less tight. This way the throttle is a LOT smoother.

Leveling the swashplate is easy, remove the servo linkages and unscrew or screw them to extend/shorten them. Make sure the swashplate is level on a full charged battery because I've noticed the servos seem to drift slightly off center when the charge is very low. :O

Well i just got my new 5g6 today with the metal upgrades and the 2.4 remote and I am very impressed. Just made my first flight and it worked perfectly right out of the box. No trim adjustments needed beleive it or not. I am not a very experienced pilot and had no trouble flying this thing. I also have a e-flite blade cx2 and this thing is even more stable than the cx2. The only thing i will say is i am concerned about motor life as they seemed to get pretty hot. My first flight was for 8 minutes and i'm now letting it cool down before i try again. I found this helicopter off ebay with the upgrades already done for $119.00 and recieved it in 2 days. This is my 2nd mini helicopter as i bought one from .precisionheli which is the biggest piece of junk i've ever spent money on. I bought there cx and it never has worked, i sent it back to them once and got it back still broken. That one was $299.00 plus i bought $100.00 in spare parts.
Do not buy from precisionheli.

JT

Does the metal upgrade really improve these helicopters. I was told that they decrease flight time and control? Is it worth the $30?

My experience... the motors are easy to damage especially if you don't get the throttle turned off immediately when it hits something. But they are easy to replace and aren't too expensive. You usually get 2 per pack, and by reversing the wires you can use a motor for either side. Always check the connectors if servos don't work, because they can come loose. The tail is extremely flimsy. Take a piece of carbon rod (.050) and insert it into the middle of the truss the entire length. Use adhesive such as clear epoxy and adhere the rod at each location it comes into contact with a truss cross bar. It didn't affect my flight at all, and I haven't broken one since.

Understand that these are no different then boats!!!!! A hole you throw $$$$ into.

I think so, I left my metal outer shaft off though. It was 2g the heli didn't need. The metal helped for that little weight needed. It will hold up better than the plastic too. highvolt-heli.com has the upgrades. They are in Utah, and you don't have to buy every metal part. No cut in flight time. Also I sent you a PM Alamick, check it.

Hi
I have written about my walkera problem twice on this forum,no feedback as yet.

It was flying fine, but then developed a 'twitch',where it would jolt and spin, after a few minutes. It got progressively worse-now it does it from full charge.Do you know what the problem could be?
Cheers

Hiya Jon111,

Sounds like it could be one of your motors about to go..

How long have you had the heli and how many flights has it done.

Cheers

Brett
