I have a new Generation III Yak, 9 flights on the plane now...I still am trying to get my balance points right...but my question is when in a harrier I am getting wing rock pretty good....then when I am in a inverted harrier the plane locks right in and does a really nice inverted harrier.
So is there something I am doing wrong on my setup, balance, etc...
Just does not feel solid in a right side up harrier.

Thanks
KF

i was hoping that some of the guys with the Gen III's would chime in here but....., i have had two Gen II 's and they both had a little wing rock with the c of g just a little behind the recommended setting. the rock was not bad at all once i learned what the plane wanted as far as throttle and nose up angle of attack. i complained to a friend of mine about my 1st one rocking so he ask if he could fly it, i said give it a try. after he harriered it all over the place for most of the flight i thought it was time for me to stop fussing and start flying. it took me a little while but i finally got it. this may not be your problem but it was mine and the QQ yak are great flying planes so stick with it and figure it out.

I agree with the above post!

Sometimes one click of throttle too much and the plane still wants to fly, and will rock some.
It needs to be stalled and on the engine only.

What prop are you using?
Do you have your throttle ATV's maxed out, small arm on servo, long arm on carb?

Makes a big difference in throttle resolution and response...

I also have a gen 2, If you don't have the nose up high enough it rocks. You need to keep it in the sweet spot maybe 60-70 degrees. Also having a neutral CG helps a ton.

it is finding the sweet spot.....

but one way to cheat a bit... is create an ELE to spoileron mix....

when you apply up ele it give a bit of spoileron to lose a bit of lift and help lock on in a harrier....

I use it some times for 3D and always use the mix when landing.....

as I flair, it automatically adds a bit of spoiler, (just a little bit) so the plane locks down to the ground......

when I touch down I go to full spoiler to really lock it down........

I have a Vess 26B right now but just ordered a Mej. 27x10....I have not been all that happy with the Vess prop so far.

I just took off a 27A and tried a 3W 27x10.
I like it so far, but am still tweaking the plane and set up.

3W, and most European props aren't true diameter either.
This one is about 26.25"

I don't fly much over half throttle anyway...

i have tried several props and everyone has there favorite for one reason or another. my favorite is the Menze 27-10 on the DA 100 and a QQ yak combo with da stock mufflers foe all around flying. the 26-12 flys great but didn't slow down like i wanted it to on our very short run ways.
