has any one tried 3 cells with an 18t? I also wanted to know are they that much better than nimh I can get a 7cell 1400mah nimh for $24 so if its not a performance enhancer I mind as well stick to the them.

3 cells would give 9.9volts, vs the 8.4 from the nimh. A123's will also be able to output more amps at those voltages. You'll have to be creative too fit them though.

What runtimes are you guys getting with these 1100mAh a123? can you state the pack config, motor and car model? I just can't see these giving much runtime.

They have the same mah as the losi packs that come with the rtr mini t and lst series. I had a mini lst with dual frenzy motors and stock esc and it got around 15 minutes by my best guess. Exact runtimes are hard to judge because every run isn't the same. 1100 should give you that or more with a 400 seze brushless motor, probably at least 20 with a mamba motor.

using the 2 cell a123 the black and decker 1100mah vpx pack I get around 20-25 mins of runtime with my mamba 6800kv, compare to the losi 7.2 volt packs which I get about 15 mins

Is the difference in volts that noticeable, 6.6v vs 7.2?

I'm going to Wal-Mart tomorrow to see if they have any of these packs. If not I'll have to get some off Amazon.com. Deftones123 how is your pack doing since you've been using a N-Mh charger?

I got mine working. Only 4-5 charges but going great. short charge times and performance is less then a 1500 apogee 2s. I don't have a nimh pack to compare it too. I charge mine at 3.5-4a and it gets a little warm near the end of the charge. Only time will tell if this is ruining the battery. I have the stock battery bar and wire on it so that could be reducing performance some, but it is good enough for just bashing around with friends.

Eight Point Four. It doesn't stay there if you didn't already know. Next time I charge it I'll see what it drops too.

if you are charging them at 3.5 or too 9.8 volts you are deff over charging them the cells are only rated at 3.3 volts

A123 packs can be safely charged a 4C. So the 1100mah pack can be charged at 4.4 amps without damage. It should also take 15 min to charge. That is the main reason that I want to get some of these.
