Ken,

I was wondering if you heard from or seen the guy flying his edge with the zdz 80. My edge is on the back burner right know and I'm thinking about getting one of those dl 100s.
So far they look pretty good for the price and dlusa can service it no problem when the time comes. If you hear anything on that zdz I'm still curios.

thanks, mark

Marc,

I don't know about the ZDZ-80, but f it is anything comparable to the DA-85, power would not be a problem.
By the way, it was a blast to fly with the whole Northwest gang! I will try to make this 4th of July an annual affair.
I had several flights on Ken's 36% with the DA-85 last week-end, and there is PLENTY of power!
I still prefer mine with the DA-100 for 2 reasons: it vibrates less, and the extra weight is actually good for the windy conditions here in Hawaii.

Mark,

I've only spoken with him and not seen the plane. The weather was not the greatest so I don't blame him. He is happy with it but I am sure he would like a little more power. Any motor that will swing a 26x10 without working to hard will work. My 85 pulls like crazy and the 100 is insane. I am headed to another down towards where he lives and perhaps I'll get a chance at it then.

Ken

Ken,

Thanks for getting back to me I guess I'll put it in there and see what happens. I'm sure it will be fine and lighter than with a 100cc anyway. I'm building a lanier 94'' edge and a lanier 87''yak right now so i can get some more experience with bigger models before i build the 36%. both will have evolution/mvvs 58cc engines they make good power with mtw tuned pipes and will swing 24x10's with authority. Well thanks again.

mark

Bringin this back. Im looking into my first big plane and really like the look of this plane. Now I can barely build a lil ARF and hate building them. Do the bigger planes tend to be easier? And would a 9ch 9303 be able to fly this thing? I see they require a lot more "junk" to get airborne. Wadda ya think?

erikelvis,

The 36% edge is a great plane and most of the work is already done for you, but its not for beginners. Theres a alot you have to know about these big birds to build them to fly reliable and safe. You could really hurt someone or yourself if not set up properly. Examples would be ignition kill, proper battery sizing and servo choice to name a few, plus being a capable pilot. I would start off with something smaller at first and find someone with the proper knowledge to help you build it. Then when your ready go for it! I'm sure you have some experience but you kinda gotta work your way up, thats what i'm doing. Hope this helped. And yes with the 9303 you could fly it with no problems. Good luck!

Hey WS6 you really have a 1000hp LS1? I currently have a 02 sunset orange SS on stands right now just waiting for me to put in a midwest fabb'd 9", textralia clutch and rebuild kit from six speeds inc. Its just one of those jobs I keep pushing aside. Its hard doing that crap alone.

Anywho. Come tax time Ill be one of those people with more dollars then sense. If I built one I wouldnt go at it blindfolded. I would hope the company would help me with everything I needed. Theres quite a few guys at the field that Im sure could help me with set up. But building.... thats a different story.

Oh and I do have a 70 some inch sukhoi that Im trying to fix up. Just needs the throttle re-done and replace most of the clasps. Then hopefully it will get in the air. Ive been putting that off as well. Just sitting in the garage next to the camaro.

Erikelvis,

Ya, I have a turbo 396 Lt1 all forged with 215 afr heads, custom turbo headers a single 88mm turbo. Plus a ton more ****. All after market suspension moser twelve bolt and a built t-56 from d&d. That was my hobby before I got into planes, right now its sitting needing a new flywheel and a twin disc clutch, but I have two other cars so it's collecting dust. Well I better stop before the planes guys start cryin about this car talk. Anyway if you really want this plane, its super easy to build all the hinges are installed and comes with a great assembly manual and it comes with hanger nine titianium pro links and all dubro hardware. I wouldnt let anybody talk me out of building mine so as long as you can get help-get it. Also check out the videos on you tube of it flying, its a bad ass. Just use good "JUNK'' when you build it.lol

Ha same here. I tore my car apart then started flying planes. Now it consumes all my non work productive time. Im going to start saving my pennies till tax time then go all out. These PAU birds are high on my list. Im going to try and keep everything else flying in the mean time. Although I do really want to buy a GP geebee from a guy at the field.

A couple of weeks ago, we received confirmation that the next shipment is due to leave the factory between the 15th and the 19th of September. We will keep every one posted when we get confirmation that the planes have been loaded on the ship.

It takes a couple of weeks for shipping and customs clearance.
