Every single ARF that I have had has had a problem or two.
But with each PAU ARF that I have had I have had my problems solved by contacting them.
Herve and Ken do their best to be a great company to deal with. This is not the first ARF to have fit problems between the wing tube and such and those types of problems are usually solved very quickly. Give Herve or Ken a email and see what they can do for you to help out this situation.

aerojack,

Just for the record. I am assembling mine now, and have helped two others assemble theirs and there have been NO wing tube issues. Mine fit just as they should, and everything else has fit perfect as well (stabs, rudder, cowl, gear canopy and hatch). In fact, this is the first ARF I have had where everything DID fit right out of the box.

Crazy Joseph.....what a refreshing addition to this thread!! To think these planes are mass produced wherever (china, Taiwan, Thailand, etc..), shipped across the ocean to a warehouse stateside, and then shipped via the Brown Truck w/ the Samsonite Gorilla handling them! They could conceivably go from hot and humid to cold and damp to hot and dry climates. A little fitment issues can certainly arise!!! Thanks for providing a voice of reason!!!

With all of that said, I cannot wait to get back to putting this beast together!! Looks like I could have all my servos, arms, batteries, regulators and switches here this week sometime, with the DA-100 arriving (hopefully) later this week or next!!! Can't wait to put her in the air!! I will keep you all posted as my goodies start arriving!!!

Regards,

Astrohog

This is an awesome airplane both to assemble and to fly. My wing tube fits perfect and balanced easily without adding weight. If you do have a problem, Herve and Ken WILL make it right. They are stand-up guys who want happy customers and are in this for the long haul. This plane flies precision incredibly well and 3-d's better than any plane I've ever flown(including a few 40%ers) Any minor assembly issues will be forgotten once the tires leave the runway.

A couple of months ago, we had a mis-hap with my 36% Edge while filming a video with Ken and John: someone turned on his transmitter, and we went into failsafe, crashing in the tall weeds.
This accident broke the cowl and exhaust pipe.
I have just replaced both, and this time I use the DA-100 compact mufflers: this is a much cleaner installation, as this time I did not have to cut any hole at the bottom for the cowl for the muffler.
Looks much nicer!

Did you leave the stacks the stock length, or did you shorten them?

Frank,

I shortened them by 1" to be able to slop on the cowl.
The engine runs great, and the plane still stays quite clean.

islandflyer,

It''s amazing how much easier it is to get a cowl on and off when you just take off an inch or two isn''t it? I battled it on my 33% Extra for ever it seemed like. Gave in and cut 2" off and now the cowl just slides on and off. Makes it much easier if you have baffles inside the cowl also. I couldn''t tell any difference in the bit of oil on the bottom of the fuse either, and I''m running 40:1 in my DA100.

I'm bumping this thread back to the front.

How's everyone doing with this plane? How about some more flight reports? I haven't heard much since Razorback's video.

I'm still window shopping and I can't seem to get this plane out of my head.

nogyro,

I have finally assembled all the goodies needed to complete mine. Not that this isn't the most complete ARF I have ever owned, It is my first 36% er and I had to buy all new......EVERYTHING!! batteries, regs, switches, engine, servos, arms, extensions, matchboxes, etc., etc.!!!

Now, to find the time to get it all together!!! I've been flying the 50cc PAU Ege and love it!!! However, my last flight on Saturday, my engine started running poorly and now I have to diagnose the problem. My dilemma is.....do I get the 50cc running so I can fly when it is nice, or do I put the 36% together?

I have flown the other 36% PAU Edge that is out at our field, and I have to say WOW!!!! If you are riding the fence, let me assure you that this IS the one you want!!!!

I better go downstairs and get one or the other running!!!

If anyone has any questions, I will do my best to get you the answers, so.....ask away!!

Regards,

Astrohog

No more straddling the fence for me. After rereading the threads, and a couple PM's with Flyinrazrback, I ordered one last night. Herve returned my call and we went over a couple of things. First thing this morning I had several email's from him confirming everything and shipping rates. It will be here towards the end of next week. You can't ask for any better customer service than that!

Can't wait to fly this bird. It's only going to weigh maybe a pound or two more than my 33% H9 Extra, with the same DA100, with mucho more wing area. This baby should really fly light.

I'm looking forward to seeing these planes fly as I'm heading up to the Seattle / Everett area right now.
I will be up there for about a year so hopefully I will be able to find the time to get out the filed you all (PAU) fly at so that I can meet you all and see these planes fly. Might have to pickup a plane or two before I return home.
