I know there is an adapter for charging the A123s. I will look for the sight and post if I find it. This would allow you to use your current charger, saving you from having to buy a specific A123 capable charger. But, if you are going to be using these, you may want to consider just biting the bullet and getting a charger that can handle those batts. I know that US Hobby Supply carries them. I believe they are the IMAX brand. I have only ordered from them once, so others may want to chime in with different suggestions.

The new FMA CellPro 10S is due out soon, beta test models are being shipped to a number of us. If this is anywhere near as good as the CellPro 4S it will be the standard that all others will try to copy for Lithium technogy charging.

Read about it here http://www.fmadirect.com/Detail.htm?item=2247§ion=45

You can use the charger(s) you have with the LBA10 in the in-line saftey disconnect mode set to th A123 mode. The LBA10 will stop the charge when any cell reaches 3.9 volts.

While 3.6 per cell is the standard recomended charge to voltage I have charged them to 3.8-4.2 volts many times and they are still doing fine. One such 3S pack now has 304 flights on it.

The FMA solution looks nice, I have the mastec 5020 power supply and it works perfectly . I have to charge 10s packs , 2 of them and I can do it in minutes. I was asking because I have a Schltze and an Ice charger.

How would you setup these chargers lipo, lion or nicad ? to work wiht LBA10.

Any way I probably will endup buying later the FMA just because its very nice, and sure very good too.

Thank you

Again while 3.6 is the recomended charge to voltage charging to 3.9 (LBA10 disconnect ) is fine. Using the Liion mode and disconnecting at 3.7-3.8 volts per cell is fine,. If you get distracted and cells charge to 4.1 per cell no real harm done.

I have a 3S pack with 304 flights on it. It is charged at between 15-20 amps. 6-8 min. average to 11.4-12.4 volts.
