Hey Swamp..............box up that Corsair, engine and all.....and ship it to me. I won't pay you for it, but I promise to enjoy every flight I put on! I guarentee that you're going to feel better about giving that bird away........than you will picking up all the tiny pieces of the carnage..........IF YOU TRY TO FLY THAT BIRD BY YOURSELF!!!

Corsairs are one of the trickiest of the War birds to fly, and it takes someone with many hours of RC experience to handle this War Horse!

Hang that beauty on the wall, go buy yourself a 40 sized trainer..........Find an established club somewhere in your area, and get a qualified Flight Instructor!

pm me for my address!!! L O L

Good Luck

Same thing happened to me. A brand new Twist 40. I got it up 2 mistakes high & thought, man this is easy. I think I'll do a roll. That little sucker when into a hyper- drive roll , only one other guy was at the field & he has less flytime than me told me later that I said ,Oh,%$%#$ & corrected the other way. That did it, it was spinning a gazillion miles an hour. Long story short, I should've been about 30 mistakes high!!! He said I stood there with my mouth wide open watching the thing go into the ground. Later 1 of the experienced guys asled why didn't I set my radio so the controls traveled at say, 40%. I didn't know how. He said-- Here's your sign !!!

High roll rate is dead easy to deal with even with no expo - just relax the input down towards neutral - the roll rate slows and you can stop the roll while the plane is upright (or inverted if you want) and execute your next turn. Sounds obvious but it took me years to realise this. If you try and end the fast rolls while it is still rolling at high speed you are bound to end up inverted, pull up and dive into the deck. Worst mistake is to feed in opposite to correct a roll. My geuss is you used some elevator as well and that caused the spin. Another trick is to start a series of very fast rolls as you pass on a very gentle upline. That way you cant ever end up in serious dive...

Hahaha RC MANIAC119 I don't see that happening but I do agree with you about buying a smaller plane to start of with. Thanx to all that responded.

Found a smaller corsiar elictric 34" lol It doesn't look the same, the flaps are completly differernt.(you guys think the control will be different it is only 4 ch) I just won a P51 Mustang 140 76" Wing(ebay) I'll use that before I use the corsair.

Dude, you're going in the wrong direction. You keep adding very difficult flying bird to your hanger. Please purchase a Trainer. Something with a high wing, and get some stick time on that, before you destroy those war birds!!

It's your money....you do what you want....but don't say you haven't been warned!!!!

Here's my prediction for your fleet if you don't get any training...the electric Corsair....10 seconds!
The Big Corsair.........30 seconds, only because of the take off roll!
The Mustang......hopefully you leave it in the hanger!!!

GOOD LUCK!!

It all happened so fast I don't think I had time to do much of anything. I've been flying about 2 yrs. & taught myself how to fly w/ simulator & a poor old trainer that the first summer I would take off- crash -repair, take off- crash-repair. The flights kept getting longer & longer. The plane had more duct tape, scotch tape on it than covering. I finally learned how to fly ,but I have picked up a lot of bad habits.( I still don't really know how to use the rudder like I should, Etc.) I've learned how to repair a "victim" & enjoy flying. I'm learning everytime I go up. I'm flying a Super Sportster 60 now w/ clipped wings with aSuper Tigre 75 that I built out of a kit. It's kinda a handful sometimes, but the puker-factor kinda makes it interesting,& makes me learn faster. Later

Mmm, future balsa piles!!! No warbirds or scale planes of anykind!! Get a Sig Kadet 40, Hobbico Avistar 40, Arrow or any other trainer, maybe even a Goldberg Tiger2 or Sig Fourstar if you absolutely can't stand the looks of a trainer. Find a instructor and let him test fly and start teaching you. IF YOU FLY BY YOURSELF YOU WILL CRASH!! IF YOU FLY THE WARBIRDS, YOU WILL CRASH!! LISTEN TO EVERYONE, YOU WILL CRASH!! Hope this helps, no shame in starting at the bottom, 99% of us did.

If you can't see it, don't hand me the controls!!

I'm gonna take maniacs advice and not buy the electric corsair and instead get an ugly looking trainer. I didn't realize it was so hard to fly the corsair. Too late now though already bought it. And I was told the mustang I bought was easy to fly am I wrong there again? MAybe I'll just stick to my g2 helicopter

The mustang and the corsair are both good flying planes, just not for trainers. No shame in buying the corsair just hang it from the ceiling for a while you will eventually be ready for it. The problem with warbirds is that they are usually pretty hot planes. They require more speed for takeff and landing and have no tendency to correct themself in a bind. I have been instructing for fifteen years and have tought people to fly on planes not designed as trainers. If you are completely set against a trainer, you might look at Hanger 9's P-51 trainer. It was designed to be a trainer, yet still fly like a trainer in some aspects. I have never flown one, but I hear they are pretty good, but aren't as tough as a basic trainer. But it is still better than plowing a nice scale warbird in the dirt. Good Luck!

Hmmm

Are you sure you didn't have the EXPO backwards???

+ for JR and - for Futaba. Backwards would be really fun on that plane...
