Status: offline 		I am new to the electric fight. I purchased a great planes extra 300 41" , I have a eflite park 480 outrunner to put in it with evo 2170 3c batteries Not real sure about a speed controller. I have a 20 amp speed controller from a trex I had. Is this enough? I am confused with what motor to battery to speed controller to use. I have been in the hobby for awhile but always gas. Any help would be appreciated.

Status: offline 		This information is straight from the Horizon Hobby web site. I have no personal experience with this motor.

There are two versions of the Park 480, 910 kV and 1020 kV.

For the 910 kV motor, a 20A-35A ESC is recommended.
For the 1020 kV motor a 25A-40A ESC is recommended.

The larger the prop, the larger the ESC required.

Status: offline 		A bigger prop forces a motor to work harder to run at its preferred rpm -> it draws more Amps.
Higher voltage makes the motor want to run at higher rpm -> harder work -> more Amps
Generally, it is a good idea to have an ESC that is rated high enough and then some.
