Well...having fun until the second flight yesterday. I pulled a wall at too fast of a speed...heard a crack over the canister muller. Needless to say..she was being called an SU-26 trainer by my flying "buddies" after I got her down...best landing so far!!! Had a pretty good dihedral suddenly built in. A true testimate to thiis aircrafts build. I have fixed the balsa cracking on the fuse...minor. ..and the couple of ribs on the left wingalong with the aileron servo box. I had to dremel the tube to get it out. One of my "buddies" is lending me a tube..sos to be able to enjoy her tomorrow again until I get another. Lessons have been learned. Thanks Wild Hare for a truly strong plane.

Had the exact same thing happen to my 28% new Extra. No damage to the wing at all and just a little Balsa compression to the wing base section of the Fuse. The fix for this is to order a Carbon Tube from Tom. It wont bend again and you will drop a few onces of weight. I have two seasons on the Extra and never another hint of a problem.

I have said this before but it is worth repeating. As you get into larger and larger planes, the stresses go up. And not just in proportion to the size, many of the forces go up as a square of te increase. 2x size is 4x the stress in some areas.

Any airplane can be broken if you try hard enough. Even the full scale planes are stressed only to a certain level, after that if you rip the wings off it was your own fault.

So use some common sense in choosing what to do. Don't put the controls on high rates, go into a full power vertical dive and yank full up elevator and expect to land with all the parts attached.

A CF tube will not bend, but the fact that you did bend the aluminum tube tells me that you are getting close to the plane's design limits.

I have seen Max Chen do that to one of his BME designs, but he did it deliberately, with full throttle blenders to see how much
punishment it could take.
Bending the tubes to that extend is probably pilot error(as admitted) Its not wise to put 20G's on a 15 pound aircraft.
Companies could go back to building 20 pound sleds if they need to be that tough, but we wouldnt want that.
Sure a Carbon tube may take a bit more, but you'll just tear out all the ribs instead.
I like this Sukhoi
