I take it you want to replicate the cowl in case you screw up the original one while cutting and fitting. Any copying method will require some work.

If that is the case then this is the cheapest and easiest and the most accurate. Assuming (Again) the back of the cowl has a straight profile. Tack glue it down to a flat base. build a box around it about 1" deeper than the cowl and with 1" clearance all around it. Mix up some plaster of paris and pour it into the box. Shake it around a bit to get any air bubbles to rise to the top. After a week dismantle the box and pop out the cowl. You will then have an exact replica of the original cowl. This works only if there are no reverse angles on the cowl that will lock the cowl in the mould.

If you will then use the plaster mould to make another cowl the inside will have to be treated. That is another process.

I have used this method many times for quick dispensible moulds
