I've been there and done the challenges... I have fast planes I don't fly because they are pains to take out get running right and don't fly as well...

Here's two examples...

Where's the FUN in that?

Hopefully we have a few cameras around.
We are also going to try to video the runs and do some doppler calcs after the fact just to see how things compare. Nothing official on the vid yet though.

I think we could really use your help

If I had your money I would burn mine!
Man-up and buy a plane ticket.

Bring your F-20 while your at it, I would like to fly it again. I've even got some extra props.

Good news.
We went up and did some check fly-bys with the radar gun this morning. The dude aint got no hack rig!!!. That thing was picking off our 1/2a racers at 50 yards with no problems. I am super excited now that I know we have a good, safe, and reliable way to verify the speed. He was able to get a dive speed and flat speed on the same run. Very cool indeed.

We are gonna have a good time!
Evan, unless you exceed 299 mph I think we can tell you how fast your planes are travelling.

Vic, are you saying that $29.99 Harbor Freight "combination cigarette lighter, tape measure, radar gun" might be a little bit off?
What speeds were you getting with the 1/2Aers?

I haven't been around the harbor freight unit but one can only assume if it's anything like the other stuff they sell.

I have been shot by the Bushnell gun and was not too impressed by how close the gun needs to be to the model to get a reading.
Obviously when you spend 10X the $ you get much better equipment. This was a Stalker unit that had no problems safely getting a reading. Verry impressive!!!

My BW powered Quickshot was continuous at 74 and my buddies QS with at TD .051 hit 91

!!I live 3000 miles away from the TD that hit 91 mph, but I can tell from here it needs to have the ball socket checked!
74 is really smoking with a BW, too. Did it do that with a 3 pitch prop?
I think your event will be a blast.
Bring extra speed props, just in case some guys new to speed show up with 10x6s.
As a matter of fact, just OUTLAW the use of 10x6s and put guys on "probation" who use Master Airscrew
