Aileron servo's are now mounted with the linkage installed. Lots of clearance but very low profile.

Did some glassing this evening. I was worried about getting to much hanger rash on the bottom of the wing so I went ahead and glassed the bottom.

Yes that was kind of wierd the writing in lieu of pictures
Anyway, glassed the top of the wings this evening, and placed them on the fuselage until they are cured, which will allow the leading edge overlap to dry without being disturbed. Still need a little bit of sanding on the flap outer edges to ensure they a parallel with each other before they are glassed.

Spent the evening working on the linkage for the flaps, in particular the setup for the outer wing panel. The final linkage will need to be done after the model is finished, however I can roughly clean out what is needed for the flaps to work properly.
I needed to remove some portions of the wing root plywood and melted out the foam. The flap control rod for the outer wing panel travels on the outside of the wing join, so the relief needs to be cut onto the wing panel. I have lots of movement and there is no binding with the servo's.

Decided to go ahead and prime the wings. The first coat always looks terrible, after a little wet sanding, the look will improve.

Great looking tailwheel. I will probably go with the robart tail wheel.

Still plugging away on the flaps and ailerons. Wing has been painted and sanded a few times, and most of the weave is filled in. Still have a few pin holes, but it is good for now. Still need to shore up the ends of the outer flaps, and glass the flaps when that is done. I also plan on cutting out the boost tab and trim tab for the aileron, glass those parts and fabric cover the remainder of the aileron. Then glue the tabs onto the aileron before final painting.

Finished cleaning up the ends of the flaps, glassed the flaps this evening. Cut out the port aileron trim tab, and the two aileron booster tabs, glassed those as well. The ailerons will be fabric covered, with the tabs glassed, and rivited, should contrast nice.

Flaps are coming along. Still sanding, and priming, but the finish is worth the work. Soon they will be done.

I'd really like to talk you into doing a scale tailwheel using Luke's plans. It's not too hard and I know from watching your builds over the past couple of years that you can pull it off easily. Will probably take you the equivalent of a weekend and $30 or less in supplies. Let me know how I can help.

Tom

If you have a few bucks laying around Sierra Precision has a nice scale looking tailwheel that I think would be big enough!

Decisions, decisions.
Not sure what tail wheel to go with. I like the idea of constructing my own, thats for sure, and it seems straight forward.
Flaps are basically done......less panel lines, rivets etc. I am happy with the way they have turned out. Still need a little sanding of the slitter plate for a smoother operation. I will need to do the ailerons next, and I think I will use coverall and dope.

I sprayed some primer on the forward fusealge piece, to check for pin holes. Found quite a few so I have filled them with spot putty. Next I will sand them down with some 220 grit to smooth out the surface of the glass.

Sanded off the spot filler with 220 wet paper. Followed by a quick sanding with 400 wet, and she is smooth as a babys bottom. I think I will do the tail section the same way before I permanently install it. Will save me some time, and the issues with handling a large airframe.

Time to break out the Corsair again. I can't be the only one here that has one feel free to post guy's. I will slowly continue the build when time permits. Took some photos and got a good look at her. Just need to confirm where I left off, and where to start.
