Does anybody have any experience with this frame? I know xhei has a crap reputation for service, but this frame seems nice and it's a knockoff of the trex 450, so all the trex parts would fit. Just wondering if it would be a good move to do something like this and be able to build it up with better components than a RTF model? Otherwise I'm looking at the Belt Cp, of course! Thanks for the input.

Nitroplanes has it for the same price. They might be better than Xheli. I thought it was a good looking frame. I went with the Belt CP ARF and put the good components on it.

My wife bought my HBFP from nitro-planes and their service was great and they followed up with a customer service questionaire on their performance. This was our first purchase from them so you can bet I will be looking at their site often. I am a person who believes in supporting others who go the extra 9yards, even if their price isn't the lowest. The world has become too competitive for companies to ignore customer service and after market support. Supporting bad dealers only gives the whole industry a bad name. Dealers scramble to catch up on backorders by cutting corners (rtf's that are far from rtf), the customer is pee'd off cause the machine won't do what is supposed to, he breaks too many parts and takes up knitting!!!! Another potential pilot lost too human folly and greed.

Great news, guys. Thanks. This is why I like this place, I learn about the good companies, so I don't get stuck supporting the crappers. I'm gonna check out the nitro site and also look into the ARF Belt CP. Good info, thanks.

I have been flying my EXI 450 for 4 days now. I LOVE IT. Is my thirsd helicopter....well fourth if you count my Picco Z . My previous heli was the King V2. With the my EXI 450 I set it up all my my little self with no special tools. Just my eyeball to set the swash and blade pitch etc. It flew almost perfect on the first hover. Boy was I impressed with how smotth it flew compared to my King. And only $99 from xheli. Isn't xheli tha same as nitroplanes and maybe even a couple other heli sites out there? If you look at the pictures, words and basic set up of the web sites they look very similar. Anyway $99 beats the pants of $200 for the TREX kit at my LHS (Local Hobby Store, for all the noobs like me out there) I also had to figure out how to program this JR XP6102 I got used. That was actually the most challenging. And I used a downloaded manual for the TREX to get info on pitch and throttle curves since it's the same heli. Probably the first thing I will upgrade is the ABS plastic type blades. Good for a beginer like me flying circuts but I'm not sure how they woukd fair under the stresses of 3D flight. They are pretty flexie.

This is a Copterx with a plastic head and tail instead of metal. I've got one of each and even the decals that come with them are the same. You put a twenty dollar HDX outrunner and Dynam ESC in it and you've got yourself one heck of a heli for less than $150.00 I've got another one on backorder, I've got a HBK2 and a belt CP. I ordered four Esky servos and another receiver that I'm going to put in it to match the TX on my other two. This is the perfect set up for someone that already has an HBK2 or belt CP, just add a gyro and you've got yourself an HBK2 and a big boy heli both.

Cool. How do you guys feel about adding the Belt CP electrics to it for a really cheap starter w/ a nicer frame? Pros and Cons? Thanks guys.

I don't know what sort of electronics ths Belt CP comes with. But in my EXI 450 I have an E-sky 3900KV motor, I think 10 tooth pinion, 25 amp E-sky speed controller, E-sky Head Hold gyro and the Tower Pro 9 gram servos all around. I have a pair of 15C 1500 mAh batteries that provide about 5-6 min of forward flight time and a pair of 15C 2400 mAh batteries that give me about 10-12 min of forward flight. I have a JR XP6102 programable controller and a 7 channel JR reciever......is the controller that comes with the Belt programable? I think the Belt CP is a similar sized helicopter to the Rex 450 so the basic throttle and pitch curves should be similar, but I think eventually you will want to up grade to a programable controller. Adding a head hold gyro will also help make flight eaiser. I was told by the guys at xheli that I should run a least 9 gram servos in the 450....what does the Belt come with?

O and another major reason I got the EXI 450 (instead of the BELT CP) was that I was tired of waiting for mail order parts when I broke my King / e-sky heli. Since the EXI is apparently 100% compatible with the TREX and pretty much EVERY hobby shop carries TREX and (the lamer) E-Flight parts I knew I wouldn't have to wait long for parts. I think the Belt CP is even more rare when it comes to finding parts at the local hobby store.

I just remembered another reason I opted for the EXI (which in my senario meant buying a programable TX). Since (I don't think) the BELT CP has a programable transmitter you might have some problems with servo throw and servo direction when setting up the helicopter. It is possible to reverse the direction of a servo if you take it apart and swap the polarity of the wires in the motor and the outside wires on the potentiometer (a slightly teadous precess) but I seriously doubt you will be able to vary the amount throw on the servos. This was a must when setting up the tail servo on the 450.

Esky servos only weigh 8 grams but they are faster and have more torque than the tower pros do. Switching between heli's might require reversing a channel or two on the TX, I've been busy with a couple other projects so I haven't looked into it that much yet. If it turns out to be a big problem I'll look into switching the wires on the servo. The Esky TX has pitch set but it should fall within an acceptable range. As far as the rudder throw goes that can be compensated for at the servo arm. The EXI has a lot more throw than the belt does anyway so it shouldn't be a problem. My new Futaba 6EX 2.4 ghz doesn't have sub trims either but it hasn't been a big problem, just requires a little more tweaking on the linkages. The only reason I'm looking into this is because like you I got sick and tired of having to order every little thing online and waiting a week or more for it. Right now I have a Hurricane 550 I can't fly because I'm waiting for a stinking $2.99 double link. I have Hitec 55's in my EXI, Scorpion HK2208-24 motor and an Esky HH gyro and carbon fiber blades. I have six, or seven, or eight heli's and it's probably the most stable and easiest to fly one that I have. The belt CP would be the second easiest and it's totally stock with an Esky 3800kv in it.

Good info guys....appreciate it. Just have to figure if it might just be easier to get the Belt CP......it would be more fun to do the EXI and get to build it myself, though.....tough decisions.
