ORIGINAL: daven Just picked this message up from a friend. Dub Jett is now officially announcing the availability of the NEW long stroke BSE Q-500 engine. This new engine version features: 1. Longer Stroke 2. Improved Muffler 3. Longer rod for smoother operation 4. New advanced piston material Price will be $400.00 including the remote and a conforming mount. Engine is not shown on the website yet, but you can order one by phone, or through the web site. www.jettengineering.com Dave, Yup! Its available now as Dub and Mike was running it on Friday for practices before race day. The two engines was brand new and they both just starting to run them in (break-in) before the race. Dub was extremely busy building for others and just finished his own a week before race weekend. The engine was competitive, but I think it can do better if given more run time. It unloaded pretty darn good with the 8.8x9.25 from what I can tell. I talked to Dub more about it at the race and was told it turned a 8.75x9w over 20K. Just for comparison, the previous generation motor that Fred B. set a record of 103.** something many years ago turned a 8.75x9w at 19,600. This one is indeed more powerful and I had a hard time keeping up with Mike and Dub with my new Profi. My new Profi is no slouch as it turned a 8.75x9w at 19,600 after many flights testing and fine tuning, setting up head clearance to match this prop. Unfortunately, my Profi ate the dirt with bad air coming around pylon 3 battling for second place option while chasing first place guy. I think it was Dub that we were chasing, but not sure. The other gentlemen also went down too as I smack the ground before he did his. The new Jett LS seem to pull the big prop very hard coming around the poles. I guess with new improved engines and speed, I have no other choice, but to sell my previous generation engines and get Dub's new Jett LS series. I have 4 BSE Jett Q500 engines and thinking about selling these, but not sure what price to sell them at yet. One of the engine I ran on Thursday in practice turned a 8.75x9.25NN at 19,600, but was not competitive in the air so I didn't used it. What do you think a good price should be for a slightly used engines? Sam
