The forecast here in NC is for a couple of inches of snow, so I thought I'd see what would happen with a pair of Coro skis!

That looks great ! I just got home, and I'm in NC also with the same idea. How did you get the coro to hold it's shape on the front?

Here they are calling for about 2 inches of snow then some ice. I'd love to try that with my Buhor tomorrow.

eagle09tbl, I scored the Coro in a few places on the top side of them then ran a wire coat hanger down the flute running long-ways and bent it to shape. I used a plastic coated hanger which fit snug in the flute, I guess a drop of hot glue would hold a smaller diameter wire in place as well. I've got a cow pasture down the street from me that I'm hoping to try out the skis at. The grass is usually a little too high to ROG with wheels. I've never tried skis before and am curious as to the size needed to support the plane's weight and also if the drag will affect the handling. Just taxing around might be interesting!

Thanks for the info and it sounds like a great idea. Hope everything goes well for ya.

Been working on mine tonight just in case it really does snow here. I don't think that the skis will be too much of a drag factor as long as they stay close to level or just slightly nose up. I'd say if they were pushed way up then you might have a problem.

Thanks for the reply and good luck with it. Post a video if you can get one.

Your skis look great. I wouldn't worry much about drag - when you get sliding on snow there is very little friction.

Your skis may take a beating, just because they are rigidly attached. I fly with Dubro skis, which have the spring loaded pivots. They absorb some of the shock of landing, and help keep the tips up. As long as they are not flopping loose, you should be fine.

Try to get us some video!!!
