What does an r/c boater do in the winter??? He builds an r/c snow buggy pushed with an airplane engine which runs on 3 skiis. I have built many of these and they are very fast and quite stable when run on a frozen lake (covered whith snow) or in an open field. I have used .15 engines up to .40 engines. I've had the best success with the .20-.21 sized. The unit requires a 2 ch. radio which might be swaped back and forth between the boat and snow buggy.

The front leg is stationary, but the ski pivots at the very end of the leg.

Looks cool. Have you run it? I'd be very concerned with it tipping over over knowing how tippy RC snowmobiles are with a lot more weight and a lower center of gravity. A duct around that prop might be a good idea in the event of a roll.

Yes I have run it many times. Originally, I used plastic props but changed to wood ones. I have yet to break a wood prop. Usually there is 2-6 inches of snow on the ground and if it rolls, the snow cushions the prop. I tried putting a flexible plastic half circle around the prop area to protect in the event of a roll over but diecided that it was't really necessary and have removed it from the buggy that I put it on.

Sorry no video available, however, I may be able to post some pictures of it in operation at a later date. We are under a SNOW WARNING this aft. through tomorrow with 6-12 inches of snow expected! When this all settles down, I should be able to run one of my three buggies.
