Repair Update...

My wife took the camera to work today so no pictures but I was able to obtain a roll of Coverite from down the hill this weekend. Funny... When I asked for Balsarite they looked at me like I was from another planet. I have a spray can of clear polyurethane that should work just fine. I have the tail section final sanded, going to started covering next.

Todd... You gotta source for PPG K-36 and the hardener? Maybe Arizona?

Thanks anyway Todd,

Now go to the Wool Growers and eat the Basque soup and beans, Pyrenees bread and salsa, salad and pickled tongue. Order the veal cutlet with spaghetti and fries, go to Smith's Bakery and buy a smiley cookie. Go to the Alley Cat on Wall Street and have a rum and coke. Then on your way home stop by Dave's tacos and cram a couple of those down for me. Ok? Can you do it?

Man I miss Bakersfield.

Hey Todd, Been thinking about a new paint scheme and I am leaning towards a JG 54 "green hearts" idea. I like "Black 8" with the blue defense of the Reich Band, yellow rudder and yellow chin scoop. Almost identical to the ME 109 you sold some time back. Perhaps we can discuss some options. Not going for a TOPGUN winner here, as this plane has seen a few sorties from the condor legion to the fall of the reich so...a show quality finish is not required. Let me think about this some more and fly this thing with just primer. Again if all goes well...I think the new paint scheme will breath some new life in this old crate.

I like what you did with this ME109, so I attached a photo for reference....hope you dont mind.

Rich, I have a fondess of the JG54 Grunherz planes.

Update... Finish sanded the stab/fin and started covering with Coverite. I forgot how much fun it is to cover with fabric!
