I asked the same thing. Darin said they are still in progress. Those prices on the electrics will be crazy

Hmm honestly, if the main headquarters in China made it a kit..would the manual you'd have to print (to show to assemble) cost more than the chinamen paid per hour to assemble it? I'm not being a jerk but if it would cost less plus, unpainted body, and no electrics at all..then you would be greater competitors and someday maybe even force towerhobbies to carry your line.

Also how come no EPX kits? I ordered a Tornado EPX for $114 shipped from redcat's warehouse through a dealer on ebay.
Im chucking the esc and motor.

bro, get the brushless kit from redcat, its insane

Why? I have the same 3300kv motor but with integrated heatsink, shipped with a program card, and a 120A ESC shipped for 20 bux less from ebay

What's the lowest ratio you can go? it seems a larger spur you need to get from redcat might hit the upper chasis. Reason i'm asking is If I want to put a higher KV say Feigao in it for better high end torque for better drifting and such.

I wouldn't go any higher Kv than the 3300kv brushless

This motor gets hot with no load at all anyways. Now at least I can use the heat-sink that comes with the kit.

Ok, I wouldn't plan on buying the motor unless you already have it to test it. The stock gearing on the volcano is the same as 24/90 in a stampede and it's heavier and 4WD. That puts a ton of stress on the motor. My 3300Kv motor got to 190 degrees on a 6 cell tenergy pack.

Umm 24/90 on a stampede is not considered high geared now a days. I'm not getting a volcano, I'm getting a Tornado EPX 4wd Buggy pay attention. I have the Feigao 7S you know this from my other posts.
The load on the motor will not be affected by 2wd or 1000 wheel drive if the 2WD and 4WD have good traction on start up. If the 2WD slips and decreases the load on the motor it is the same as taking the 4wd kit and reducing the initial current draw via my program card and esc, something you can't do with the redcat esc combo.

I was just saying what I believed was right. And yes, being 4WD will put more stress on the motor. You are forgetting the loss of the drivetrain.

Looks nice though. How's it run?

Electric Propulsion err..Xerxes

oss of the drivetrain.

See how much weight of you finger you need to start to turn the wheel of one locked axle 2wd, then times it by 2. I bet on a good kit with bearings you will barely need any force to get traction.

But there is more stress on the drivetrain on hard acceleration. That's why I don't launch my Saab 9-2x unless there is a riced up fart can next to me but that's a different story..
