Hi,
Just ordered a CMPro Cessna-50 ARF 46~50 Engine Powered Scale Aircraft for $135 . Seems like a good deal. But I know that the Chinese models have some quarks-poor instructions, only heat glued on firewall etc.
Has anyonr build this or it's bigger brother, the the 140 class? If so any help[ or suggestions would be appriciated.

Thanks,

Zig

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you will get.

The biggest thing to watch for IMHO is to set up your tail surfaces so that there is no chance of play, which can lead to flutter.

The long pushrod provided is not the greatest if you use it as is.

One thing you can easily do, is to epoxy in any form of retainer along the fuselage to prevent lateral movement of the pushrod.

This helps to eliminate the potential for flutter.

A small square of hard ply with a hole in it for the push rod will suffice.

Also double check the C.G.

The recommended C.G. on the 1.40 makes the plane WAY too tail heavy.

On the 1.40 version the C.G. should be at or just aft of the forward top wing bolt.

weather clears and cessna soars for ten min. flight at half throttle nitro planes and maxamps make another great combo

That really is a great looking plane.

Add the lighting system and the Robart front strut and it becomes difficult to tell it from the real thing.

Hi gardenia,

Good news on your flight !!!

Awesome pictures !!!

I changed out the stock nose gear for the Robart 654 Strut, it made a huge difference !!!

You've probaly seen mine,

I nearly bought one of these the other day. it was a close call between that and the larger free style Seagull 540 160 size that I bought.
I looked at the kit and it was truly remarkalble. It must be the best out of the box scale model I have ever seen.
I wish I could have built both but its on my wish list to build next.

The larger version is equally impressive.

Just a question if you have the time. I am a little hesitant to drill the holes for the gear. The "manual" shoes just screwing the gear to blind nuts. Were your gear legs drilled?

I believe they were.

Check the gear to be sure that the holes are not merely painted over.
