Status: offline 		The usual practice in making a mold is to build up the thickness with layers of cloth. A while ago I read an article where sand was mixed with the epoxy to make a "Mud". After the application of a couple of layers of cloth this mixture was spread over the mold to build up the thickness. I cannot find the article. Has anybody experience with this procedure.

I think there is a very long thread on sand as backfill in mold contruction in the beginning of this forum

Status: offline 		My Friend JR did it on his "fuel cell mold" with huge success (houston hobbies.com) tutorial. I'll see if I can find it.
