Well, I don't have boss on my head rushing me to finish faster, so there is no problem to take my time and build her in a way I wanted. Let's be slow build, but with good results. After all, I waited more than 30 years to start this build, so another year or two are not a problem. Important part is that after that I can replicate her much faster and even if I crash, can have her in the air again soon after that!

If this project comes out like your Bristol Scout, then the Yak will be pretty special. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

I hope to make this project much better than Bristol Scout. Yak is better subject, much bigger model which give me a chance to incorporate more details. And after all much more information is available on this aircraft, mostly thanks to you Wayne. I really hope for better bird this time.

The wing is covered. Now is time for leading edges and wingtips.

Heck, you are going to have yours done before I get the "giant scale" Yak-3 done! We're supposed to have the engine sometime in the next month. Maybe you should come to work for me!! How are you at shooting rivets??

Thanks Wayne! I have feeling that I'm going too slow. Well, at rivets I'm ok, but not very good. Love to work with wood though. And drawings and electrical systems. Unfortunately you are far form me...
Here is current progress:

Almost time for the oil coolers huh Lz? You did a great job with the wing tips. They are very hard to get right and you did a bang up job.

Thanks Evil! I didn't have troubles with wing tips. They are not shaped yet as you can see, but I'll tell you a little secret of mine. I always use few pieces wood when I believe will benefit the frame. Here I have 3 layers of 1/4 + 1/8 +1/4 balsa cross grain with middle layer made from hard balsa and top and bottom from soft one. It did help me to keep the shape and is very tough. Granted all parts will be glassed and after all is just plug, but still...
