Hi I am new to radio control helis I have just purchased a Hornet with cp.
I have been advised that the CP is harder to learn on than the fixed pitch.
I have a fully programmable JR x-378 radio.
Two questions:

1. can I program up the pitch curve to behave like a fixed pitch until I get the hang of this.?

2. How many degrees pitch is a fixed pitch ?

3. Does anyone have the curves for this radio ?

Also is there anyone in sydney that can setup and test fly my hornet?

Thanks in advance for your help

John,

I've just got a fixed picth Corona so I'm no expert but as far as I understand it CP helis are actually EASIER to actually fly as you get instant collective response whereas FP have a lag between the control and the action. And, of course, FP varies the head speed to climb/descend which means that as you're coming down you actually have a lower head speed which makes it a bit trickier too.

However the reason FP rather than CP is recommened for beginners is not the flying but the building and trimming that are easier. FP is MUCH simpler and there isn't as many adjustments, links, programming issues to get wrong.

Like you say, if you can find and "expert" near you who get get your heli in trim before you fly it, it would be a great idea.
