You might like Laddie's Arrow better. It has a thinner airfoil section and is potentially faster than the North Star. No full kits available, but plans from RCM and a short kit from lazerworks.

I have a build thread on it somewhere in the seaplane forum if you want to look at it. The big thing I found it needed after building 3 of them was 5 degrees downthrust on the engine to tame its bad habits.
