Sorry I thought that DC-9 was the airliner that they converted to MD-80. I am not an airline person so I may be wrong about that. Norm

Hmm, DC-9 to MD-80. Stretch the fuselage and put Pratt & Whitney -200 engines on it. MD-90? Stetch the fuselage even further and put V-2500 engines on it. MD-95 is a DC-9 -40 with quiet engines and a slightly different tail. The DC-9 was designed in the late 50's. This shows that a well designed aircraft will stand the test of time.

Very true, but sad to say the last of the descendants of the original DC 9, ended production in 2001 I believe.
Now will they ever stop producing the 737

Not as long as the airlines keep ordering it. I recently came back from Hawaii and we flew from LA to Honlulu in a brand new 737-800 "Overwater Model" Norm

of course a new 737 is a far cry from the original mdels.

737's have changed a LOT over the years:

Old 737: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lufthansa/Lufthansa/1310834

New 737:

Vast differences, especially if you consider the electronics.

Don't ask Norm any trick questions or he'll attempt to underwhelm you with his vast Parker-51 experience.
It's an exercise in futility .

Ah yes my old friend Boeing 727, Google tells me that it is a tired old obsolete airliner whose power supply is dwindling rapidly. It also prefers to be known with a nickname rather than admit who he really is. Norm

Hope I lived up to your opinion of me, even your
Parker 51 reference is dated and obsolete
