spectrum dx3.0 receiver problems

I just got a brand new dx3 for my birthday and one of the receivers does not work properly. It works for a while and then the light on the receiver goes dim and flickers, then the servos start to go crazy and judder. i have emailed the people who sold me this but i was wondering if anybody has ever experienced this?
