Has anyone flown this plane or the SWORD-140 ? I know I'm going to hear a lot about the price and it's no good because it doen't cost $500.00 but some times ARF's can fool you. This could be a sleeper. That's why I'm asking about it.

I have flown and competed with the 140 Sword. I built it, test flew it friday, flew it saturday in a contest and won intermediate with it. The covering needs extra attention is my only complaint about the arf but it flies very well.

Buy confidently and enjoy. I would recommend a taller lighter carbon fiber gear. Power was a Mintor 170 but an OS 140 or OS 160 would be ideal in it.

Good Luck

SWORD 90....WITH YS 91 NOT THE 140....DON'T OVERLOOK THIS PLANE..THE SWORD 90 IS FAIRLY EASY TO BUILD...MAY WANT TO CHANGE TAILWHEEL..BUT I BUILT IT STOCK...1ST FLIGHT...HARDLY ANY TRIMMING TO DO...LANDS SWEET. NO BAD HABITS.

I honestly never took pictures of it together, but there was a thread a few years ago that had a lot of photos of the plane.

Scott,

Nice to hear someone else is interested in this plane. Post some pics of the plane and progress as you go along. I was thinking of a Saito 125 for the business end, what do you have in mind ?

I would like to run a webra 1.20 if it fits and balances o.k. If not then I may go with a .91fx

Well I just checked with ups and it shows that my sword is slated for delivery today. If it arrives I will report back on the initial findings.

It has arrived. No pics yet but will try to get some weights and pics soon. First impressions are good, the fuse and wings look good(nice and straight) Fiberglass parts are light and painted nicely but the color is off a bit--Imagine that an arf with the colors not matching!!!! The only thing I don't like is the rudder and elevators have counter balances. I think that is more 3-d than pattern but we will see.

Question for all you pattern guys, what do you think about a 1.20 webra in this?

Thanks
Scott
