Just completed the 65" Yak kit. It's a great looking plane and easy build, looking forward to flying it when the weather breaks. It balances at 1.25" aft of the CG as noted on the plans...roughly 1" behind the main spar. Is this reasonable for the maiden flight? Any thoughts?

I flew one this weekend with the CG at 8.25". I like tail heavy planes and this one was perfect. Almost no correction needed in inverted flight, walls were great, but it was not too difficult to land. Hope this helps.

Scott, sounds like you are in the ball park if you are only 1" behind the spar. Like BBagle said measure about 8.25" behind the leading edge at the root for a good 3D CG point. Your plane looks really nice. Show us some pics of the bottom and side as well.

Thanks for the responses. It balances right at 8" behind the LE at the root. Here are a few more pics.

Thanks for the pics. I don't think you will have any troubles telling the bottom from the top!
