Thanks man ! I appreciate the support. I love getting people excited about these planes...It perpetuates the hobby/ addiction. [:D] In regard to the engine / cowl size, I don't see any issues with getting ther rear ported, RCS 140 to fit. Say, I tried something that you should take a peek at regarding a rear carb engine. Check out the "KMP Typhoon" build thread, I created a ram air intake for an engine with similar dimensional constraints...It may or may-not interest you. Anyway, here are the SIG P-51B cowl dimensions: 5 1/4" at it's widest (rear) 3 7/8"at clr.narrowest. It has a 4" spinner 71/8" tall max at rear 5" at the front lower air intake Hope that helps! [;)]

I'll be getting one as soon as they are in stock at tower hobbies. I'll be stripping the covering and making a Malcolm Hood for it though. Your thread was the convincer.

Evil Merlin: Just found a picture of the paint scheme I would like to do..My big P-51 D was painted up with the paint scheme "OLD CROW" ...Major Anderson's first Mustang was a P-51C # 324823...Was a Lt. at that time...found a picture of it..at that time,he had 9 kills...probably do it with warbird colors...Need Red, Yellow, and White..already have the Black....Found a old style Robart retractable tail wheel unit and beleive it'll fit right in with very little modifaction..going to use air retracts on this bird... Evil,if you modify your canopy to look like a "C" model, let me know..would like to get one for mine, let us know how you did it...think Sig hit the jackpot with this bird...going to be a very popular plane...............

Jimmy, I know the plane you are talking about. Once I get going and make a canopy or two, I'll let everyone know. I cannot make a bunch of them, but I can make a few. PS: The C canopy was the same as the B canopy. The only difference between the B and C Mustangs were the factories in which they were built. The B models (NA-102) were made in Inglewood California, and the C's (NA-103) in Dallas Texas. Other than that, they were the same. Most of them came with the standard "greenhouse" style canopy, but some were refitted in the field with the Malcolm Hood canopy.

NoFlaps: Differnce is the arm is longer and the two mounting tabs on the bottom(Like the new one has), aren't there..also old style had two screws holding the arm (it's the arm for steering) on..have order the new one..will pick it up today at my LHS.....

I just talked to the people at UPS. aparrently, the sriver coudn't find my house!?! [X(]Alsthough I live in a regular neighborhood and get stuff delivered all the time, for some reason the nucklehead got lost , so they said my engine won't arrive until Tuesday now! [:o] So it look l ike I won't be doing the engine install this weekend. Hopefullly I'll be able to do the tailwheel and assemble the rest of the tailplane, but what a bummer man![8\|] Cest la Vie I guess. Hopefully "jmohn" will be able to fly his electric version this weekend...I can't wait to hear about it's performance.[:)]

Hi ,I was looking at you color schem picture ,and if you are doing that one ,when you get my canopy ,you can build up the back of the fuse to fit,around a 1/2 ". The invation strips will cover the the new parts right to the end of the canopy.I don't think you'll have a problem.I made it fit the top flite , so I'm wondering how well it will fit yours. Will look great with that color schem. Joe

Sig has had some interesting releases of the late..... good to see this one from them... Now, lets see a corsair, with flaps and a giant chipmunk released from them, and I will be one happy camper...

I got to look at one of these at the lhs. It is a nice looking plane. I really like the shape of it. I am not too fond of the gloss on the covering though. Also are you guys replacing the retracts and enlarging the wheel wells. The retracts looked small and the wheel wells looked short (this is going to give it a short and shakey lookin stance). I wont even mention the cheap foam wheels, what are they in size 2.75 inch. Overall I like it just think they cut some corners in the landing gear area considering their charging 320.00 for this arf. A little bit on the high side for a 60 size. I will wait till the topflite comes out before I decide which one.

The one picture I'm waiting to see is the gas engine mounted to the firewall. Not knowing the relative sizes of either the engine or the airframe, it would seem that this engine would stick way the heck out there from the cowl. I hope I'm wrong because this could be one fantastic combo if it looks good. Thanks for posting all the info. Al

Guys, The stock retracts and wheels work great! I have been flying off a dirt field with lots of rocks and weeds and it does fine. Landings are very slow and easy with full flaps. It's well worth the price considering all the quality hardward and construction that are in this kit. It's a very well designed and contructed plane. If you compare to a H9 plane at $260+ it's a very good deal considering what you get and what's already done for you. The stance looks great too. Here's the finished product after the first flight. NoFlaps, you need to fly yours...it's a blast! Jeff

I have a new RCV 90SP. This bird would look great with a scale 4 blade prop pulling it through the air. Tell me, how does the spinner go together? One center screw, small screws on the outside of the spinner?

There is one center screw that woud attach to a prop nut adapter There pare "pegs" around the perimeter of the spinner to ensure it stays in one place relative to the spinner back-plate.
