Hello, I am finally getting around to starting my next project. I just purchased a Pete N Poke and I decided to do my first build thread. A thread to get feedback and help from others. Also as a way to show my friends that I had to move away from how my progress is going. So hopefully you all will enjoy and be able to add some construction criticism.. My plan is to use a Magnum .52 4 Stroke. First I would like to know if this will be enough power. I am first going to post some pictures of my new workshop where all the action will happen. Please check back as often as you like to look for more pictures. Have a good day.

Here are a few additional pictures of my workshop. It is a 10x10 shed I bought for $600.00. My awesome wife decided it was time to have my own space out of the garage, cool huh. It now has power outlets throughout. It also has a computer with wireless internet so I can buy more supplies or just to surf rcuniverse.com. Well here are a few more pictures. See you soon.

Ok on to the build thread. Here I started off building the Horizontal stab. I had to glue two pieces of balsa together to get the right thickness. I only had about an hour to work on it today and this is what I got done. I will try to get the rest of the stab done tomorrow. Please be patient I think this will be a slow build. I am in the Air force and it is testing time so i have to spend a lot of my time studying. Please keep checking back.

Hey thanks guys for your comments so far. I appreciate it. Yeah i know I dont have a window yet but I found a 20.00 trailer window that I will buy and put above my tool box. Also I have a killer radio system coming out of my computer speakers to enjoy while I build. With that being said I know that during the summer i am going to need some kind of fan but thanks for the advice. Also I forgot to mention I am working on a vent system to get some of the dust out of there. Also I have been using a vent system so I can run my models while inside so I dont piss my neighbors off. I love it it works great but needs to be modified. Anyways thanks again for the replies. Mark

Pretty decent hangar you got there Mark, I think you will need a fan in there this summer, may get pretty hot in there. Did you recover that Uglyfly in the rafters? Lets see that engine run stand you built.....Oh this is about the Pete-N-Poke. I thought you were gonna stick that ST .40 on it. Todd

Yeah I will have to get pictures of the test stand. Also I decided that the ST .40 is going to be way under powered and I have a hook up to get a new engine at dealer cost prices. So I guess that ST .40 Will go on the Debonair and the .48 MDS will go on ebay to earn some cash. Anyways I will post more later.

I have not been able to touch it really since I last posted. Those Airmen have been keeping me really busy. I did however get that MDS .48 engine off of my debonair and put that .40 Super Tigre on there. I did that so I could break that engine in and so I could throw that MDS on EBAY to start saving some cash for my first 4 Stroke. I will get the stab done in a coupe days and post more photos though. Anyways got to run. Mark

Very nice shop. You need to get rid of that clock. Time has no meaning when you are working on a plane. I don't see any lights, do you have something over your bench?

And how do you keep the beer cold?

Yep actually I do have a fluorescent light bar above my work bench. It puts off all the light I cold ever want. Of course there is also a nice heater that has been keeping me warm. As far as that clock goes yeah I should get rid of it, but if I did I would lose all track of time. Also I attached a picture of the engine that I am going to bless my Pete N Poke with.

Finally got a few minutes today to get the horizontal stab done and ran into my first snag. The kit only comes with (1) 1/4 x 5/8 x 30" balsa stick which is used for the elevators LE and TE. So I went to build the elevator and the balsa came up a little short, so I will need to stop by hobby lobby tomorrow and pick up some wood so I can move on to the vertica stab. Anyways I should be able to post some pictures then. Thanks for bearing with me and the slow progress.
