Hi. I bought a 22e about 4 months ago. I haven't flown it yet due to the fact that i am a beginner and was fooling around with the lama v3 and 4. I bought aluminum swashplate and blade grips for it in the meantime.

I went through the whole heli tightening screws and adding antilock and just making sure everything looking good and solid.

Feeling confident, I started it up and rev'ed it to half throttle. At this point the heli should start wanting to lift but it just held there. I did it again and felt hardly any down draft.

I then adjusted the pitch control on the transmitter and still no lift. I then unplugged the motor and rev'ed it up again. It seems that the blades did not have enogh pitch to lift the heli. I adjusted the linkage to full and full on the pitch control on the transmitter and i just had barely enough to lift it. Is there something that i am missing? Do i need langer linkages?

Thanks

Hi RedGN

With both motors disconnected and with your mode switch in the up position on your tx.....right about half throttle 50-60% your whole swash should start to move down. I rekon you should get about 9-10 degrees positive pitch and your see saw should just be bottoming out on your t block at full throttle. Below half throttle you should have o to -1 degree pitch with mode switch in the up position. BTW. the plt and pit knobs will do nothing unless dip #8 in the back of the tx is in the unlocked position.

With the mode switch up and the throttle at 60% the heli does not lift, even with the pitch knob for max pitch. (sw.8 on). The linkage fully extended .
Thinking of moving servo horn position. Walkera linkages are so cheap, they keep breaking even with the tool.
If this doesn't work heli goes into garbage.

Have you tried to adjust your right knob on the TX, counter clockwise i think. As Tommy suggested you have to find out if the swash mixing is working. With motors disconnected does your swash move down smoothly as you increase throttle. Ideally It "should" start to move at 50% throttle or a little less

If you putting it in the bin send it to me

I just bought a Walkera 22E. I connected teh battery connections and teh copter took off across the table, because I had the transmitter "ON" Stupid !! The battery and motor started smoking so I quickly turned it off. Now there is a white wire loose from the motor , {I assume}. the tail rotor spins, and the swashplates functions, but no main rotor spin. Where does this white wire reconnect to on the motor?

The second problem I have is that the Sim cable from the transmitter does not function on FMS. any ideas or remedy for this?
thanks...new to Heli's

Propwash. With my 22E in front of me, all I can tell you is that my motor has two wires: one pinkish coloured and the other white. The White wire you mention (I assume) goes to the opposite terminal to the "pink" one on your motor. Both wires then go to the little red connector then the wires disappear into the 4in1 unit. If you reconnect the wire but think the motor is damaged then you can disconnect the tail motor and connect this connector for the main motor to the 4in 1 and see if it still functions. If it works, then the main motor is U/S. I doubt it though. Good luck.

By the way...you are supposed to have your Tx turned on before connecting the leads on your heli. Just make sure your throttle stick (left side?) is in the fully down position first!!

Ok here is a picture of the blades and the transmitter.

Notice the Left knob is at max. and the right pitch knob is at max. ( and yes sw.8 is on)
Also notie that the throttle is just above half.

Now look at the pitch of the blade.

Ok i just switched aluminum pasked and installed a new (different) one and all is fine now. I think the swashplate is alittle different . I ordered the first one and they said it was for a 22e. I looks the same but slightly different ( position of the balls ). I don't really know but it work great now.

Thanks for your help

i replaced the swashplate, the blade grip assembly, and the new kit came with another piece ( i don't knbow what it is called ) the piece above the blade grip assembly,

the new aluminum pieces come with round ball joint where the old one came with flatened ball joints. This is an improvement because the old one use to reck the ball lickage.

The pieces look very similar but everything seems to fit perfectly and the pitch is good now with the pit knob at half.

However i did find that you have to make sure all the screw are tight ( use antiseize ) because two of the balls somehow unscrewed and fell off.

I got it off ebay i think it was around $30.... I have pictures of the new assembly in anothe post.

Hope this helps

This is due to the pitch. The linages have to be turn in ( made shorter ) in order to change the pitch of the blades

The linkages i am talking about are the ones coming from the servos to the swashplate.
