ORIGINAL: zach78910 we need help to figure out what to do with the wire that comes straight down into the fuse from the rudder. the plans told us to sodder a tiller arm on it we tried that on anouther pice of wire to see how strong it was and we broke it vary easy, i will not trust that this exspensive of a plane. so if please send us some ideas. thank you. here are some pics of progress and the pic with the two control rods and the wire in the middle is what i am talking about. What does that wire do? Is it part of the rudder, or something to hold the stab in place? If the plans recommend soldering a tiller arm, is it something that a servo would connect to? If it just needs something to hold it in place, I'd do one of two things; either put a wheel collar on it, snugged up to the under surface of the balsa, or cut it a bit short, use a die to thread it, and use a nut/lockwasher. If you soldered the tiller arm and it broke off, you did not get the wire hot enough, or it wasn't clean enough; but I understand completely about not wanting to trust all that time and effort to one small thing like that. You guys are hauling *** on this build, I can't believe how much you get done. Looks great, can't wait to see the engines hanging on it.
