Iv just completed seting up my wingbat (26"flying wing) www.wingbat.co.uk the AUW is 240 gm ,i put a blue arrow inrunner 3000 kv brushless motor on it .the prop is a tiny 3" the thrust prduced by ths setup is approx 90gm ,far too less then what i had anticipated . Itested the motor prop combo in my backyard although it was a small hop but the motor seemed to push the wing ok .I do understand that flyingwing sort of designs donot require much static thrust because of their efficent lift producing capability .I would appreciate some sugestions for the power setup .

Thanks

John

what is a 3000 kv motor? Stated like this it means the motor turns 3000 rpm per volt.
I rather expect a 60VA motor (60 watts) on a 250 grams wing for lively performance. From your data, nothing can be extracted.

So what is prop brand, diameter and pitch?
What motor type? (brushed or brushless)
what is the motor rated power in watts , max current and max voltage.
what is the motor internal resistance.
what type of battery is hooked up. Cell type, number of cells.
What regulator type is used/ (max amp, internal resistance)

If you provide the above data, I can advise you several setups, or a single setup centered around the prop you use now.

If your motor has 6A current limit, you can go to a 4.5"x3" propeller for much better performance
Calculated data
Current draw 5.2A
top speed 53 kmh
flight duration 6 minutes full power or 9 minutes cruise
thrust 180 grams
