Evil,

E-flight Power 60: $129
Castle 85HV esc: $169
Castle 10A UBEC: $29
Servos 6 @ $19 1 @ $36
Battery: $259
Other misc. items: $40

Total (I hate this part) = $776

The only good part is all the components are from another plane, so I really didn't spend that much on this plane. At least that's what I tell my wife I have been trying to only use parts from old planes that have crashed or gotten tired of. Don't even ask how much my new KMP Stuka is going to add up to

Yikes. I think I'll just stick with Glow or Gas for this one. Thanks!

Yeah, if I didn't already have the stuff I probably wouldn't go electric either. I am doing the Stuka for a "sponsored" project otherwise I wouldn't do that one either. I am planning on a large P39 (24 lbs) and will be going gas on that one. I am very impressed with the new gas motors that don't cost too much for fuel and aren't too messy either. The new gasers are getting pretty good on cost and operations.

I will get some finished photos this weekend. I still want to throw a dull coat on over the stickers and mono coat, but may fly it first if I get an open window in the weather.

Jmon,

Did you have to do a-lot of re-heating of the covering to get it back on ?
My plane looks like an old lady with wrinkles on every imaginable part.
I mean I know they come from china where it's more humid and it's wintertime here in Kentucky, but Geeze~

No, mine had very little wrinkles. I only had a few to iron out, but then it has been raining like crazy here so maybe the humidity is the same as where they were made. I sure hope it stops long enough to get a flight in this weekend. The AUW ended up right at 8 lbs. It should fly great with the setup I have in it. I still want to spray a dull coat on it before a flight, but it's much too wet here right now to spray without getting streaks.

THE WEATHER IN CO WAS GREAT FOR FLYING. STILL WORKING ON THE AREOSOUND A THE ENGINE MOUNTS. USING 4 INCH 8-32 STAND OFF'S AND CONSIDERING HARDER STAINLESS. I WEIGHED THE PLANE AND BATTRIES = 10 LBS. SHOULD HAVE IT COMPLETED BY THE WEEKEND.

No flights this weekend. We got a TON of rain and wind. Hoping to get some time this week or next weekend. I got to work on my KMP Stuka this weekend instead which was fun. It's got a great paint job with lots of detail. It looks way too nice so I started weathering and adding more scale detail. Still have to figure out how to get a nice looking cockpit in the plane.

Well I did the mainden flight at lunchtime today. I just couldn't wait for the weekend and it's going to rain anyway. I did a couple taxi runs down the runway and everything looked good. It tracked real nice straight away and only needed a little up elevator to keep the tail down. Lined up again and started a slow roll out and got the tail up, then applied more power and off it went. It climbed nicely with about 2/3 power. I started doing the trim outs and it only needed a little down elevator. I trottled up and got a lot of vibration (the spinner was not true) and trottled back down to about 1/2. It calmed down and I did some passes with the gear up and it was on rails. On the last pass I gave it a little more power and got the vibration again. It also looked like the spinner was coming loose so I setup for a landing. I put the flaps to 1/2 and it slowed down great with no elevator input. I then tried full flaps and again didn't need any elevator input. I gues my mixing was pretty good. I slowed it down on the final turn and setup for a landing. It slows down real nice and the landing was great no bounce at all with the stock setup. Taxied it back and noticed the spinner was almost off the motor shaft. Got it down just in time

The plane was a real solid flyer with great performance and easy to fly. I had the CG right where they recommended at 30% MAC. The landing was very predictable and slow enough to land in a pretty short area. Sig did a good job on this one! Thanks Mike and everyone at Sig!

Evil,

You will love it! It's one of the best flying warbirds I have flown out of the box with no alterations, other than it's electric. It has that solid warbird feel on the ground and in the air. It's not too light as many seem to be these days. It flys just like expected with not overly responsive controls. The power off glide is very long too and makes landing without flaps very tough unless you have lots of runway Got two flights on it today at lunchtime and loved it! I all ready have some battle scars as I punched the prop through one side of the wing while I was taking the wing off. Oh well it looked too clean anyway

I've always liked Sig, they make some top notch stuff (even the Dornier Do-217 I got from them, while full of flaws at first, they worked with me to fix them all and came out with a rather nice twin electric).
