Thanks for the kind words! Always glad to help someone out. I wish I had some help and advice when I started flying. I would have saved a lot of money and time Ready to do some filming at lunchtime today?

Say, I did this thing on mine with the rear radioator door...Do you think something like that would help in the cooling of your batteries.

I saw your radiator door and it would definately help cool the battery. I get good air into the fuze through the cowling as I added a bunch of holes in the fire wall for this reason, but it can't get out so it would get hot in the summer. I will look into doing that after I get some more flights

Can you post some more details on how you made it?

I haven't had any issues charging pack, but have had some damaged on crashes. I had three big planes crash due to Spektrum "brown outs". I lost the battery packs on two of them as they hit very hard and drove the packs into the firewall an/or engine. The batteries have been very reliable and I have some from over three years ago that are still performing well with 100+ flights on them.

Status: offline 		Staying with the electric theme here are a few photos of my B model waiting final installation of the power train. Aircraft built very well and as noted on the various threads, I can't say it any better. As with anyone I have made several mods to fit me. One is the change out of the landing gear struts with those from the 60 size warbirds from Hobby People. At 29 dollar they are a steal and will fit any 2.75 inch wheels which size provided although they are much larger in size if you bounce them again a scale drawing (wheels should be about 3.75 inchs at least). Also, pilot is from Hobby People as well and at 9 dollars painted is a steal once dullcoated. Aircraft was given minor detail and panel line using a Monokote pin and painted a dull coat using Testors spray (about 4 small cans) and the paint takes heat very well when tightening the Aerocote covering. All up weight is 8.8 pounds with 6 by 3850 Common Sense batteries or 9.31 pounds using 8 by 3850 packs. Motor and ESC are Turnigy from United Hobbies out of Hong Kong (less than 110 dollar for motor and ESC). Radio is DX-7 Spektrum with servos as applicable. Had to modify prop hub to accept long 8/32 bolt for spinner and waiting modified unit to mount motor. Other than that we be stock out of box. ed

Status: offline 		Congratulations on your flight! This plane is a reall keeper and will soon be your favorite airplane I can't fly it enough. I usually get 4 or 5 flights on it every time I take it out and would get more if my batteries charged faster.

Ed, yours looks awsome. I just started putting panel lines on mine last weekend. Struts looks nice too.

Status: offline 		Finished mounting motor and installed batteries around the center of gravity. Test run motor on bench with spinner and 18/8 APC with six cells (2 3/3850 Common Sense packs), no vibration noted at any level and pulls like hell. Only drawing 22.5 amps at full bore showing 5950 rpm on prop. It should be plenty for first flight but I have 7 and 8 cell packs waiting a new ESC that will handle the load if needed. I hate the idea of removing the wing each time the batteries need changing but thats the way it is at this time. I'll post a couple more shots of final set up prior to and after first flight. Then it is own to a new project that has been on back burner for a number of years. How about a 73 inch span F-7U3. It's setting on the gear or was the last time I saw it and it needs to be finished for flight. May go either 2 Cook fans with electrics or a couple of 18 pound turbines if the fans don't pan out. This one will cost me a small fortune but what the hell it's only money and I've never seen a luggage rack on a hurst to take it with me. I just got out of hospital after 35 days fighting Fornier gangreen and diabeties. Won the battle but they got their pound of flesh before it was all over. Another day is a precious thing. ed

I don't think your 18" prop will clear the ground when the tail comes up. You may want to check this. Mine is very close to a prop strike using a 16-12 prop. I am running a 6S pack and getting 1400 watts from an Eflight Power 60 motor. It's a great combo and flys awsome.
