AVG Anti-Spyware. It's very good. Free to install, free updates... http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-spyware/us/frt/0

EDIT: Just realised I didn't read your post properly. Sorry. I found AVG to be very good, but I also use file change monitors and an IDS protocol analyser to help me identify this kind of stuff. I have an IT security background, so I don't allow many unrequested packets through.

PS. Vista's built in antispyware is also very good, I hate to admit.

i dont actally use a spyware detector. i found a program called c:cleaner and it seems to wipe out spyware and stuff. i used to run avg antispyware so it would detect it and then run c:cleaner to see what it wiped out. so far it takes care of everything. and it cleans out cookies and history.

I have used SpySweeper for a few years now, with good results. It's also a free download, and you will get some messages requesting that you upgrade (of course), but the free version seems to work well. The scans can be time consuming at first, but they mellow out the more you run them.

I like Spyware S&D also, along with Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. (Free versions, of course).

Glad you got your stuff fixed, zeen!

Currently, I have the following programs installed: Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot - Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster, Easycleaner, AVG, Windows Defender, and ZoneAlarm.

If I run Spybot first, the others never detect anything, my basic point is it's an awesome program. I'm glad it fixed your problem.

Yeah, I use AVG and Search and Destroy, I have no viruses what so ever. And usually my solution to a serious virus is REFORMAT!!!!

I use Avast mainly, and I run Spybot S&D. Avast got rid of a pretty crazy virus my computer had that nothing else including spybot sd would help. Avast is also free for non business use.
