The ATF guys are retarded !!!

I agree that they're not the brightest but it's also about job security. I heard a few years ago that the government was considering dissolving or seriously decreasing the ATF because there is so much overlap with other government agencies. So the ATF was basically trying to drum up more business and instill fear. The fact is that if any group wanted to bring down an aircraft or launch against a ground target, why re-invent the wheel? They would just acquire some real military hardware that actually works.

Bottom line is, all this home brew stuff is not helping our cause. Whether terrorism is that problem or not, public safety definitely is. People making their own motors in the homes and apartment buildings and the resulting fire danger that presents, launching them recklessly and starting fires. It all hurts the legitimate rocket hobbyist.

The ATF is not going to give up without a fight. They have 60 days to appeal the decision and even if they don't appeal it they will most likely re-word it and re-submit it. So it's not over. We need to knock this stuff off so they (the ATF and any other gov types who may be watching) don't get more fuel for their fight. But I don't see that happening. Just look on Youtube, there are plenty of brain dead morons doing all sorts of stupid things.

I know this rocket guy who has a lathe in his upstairs apartment living room. One day he was getting rid of some acetone so he dumped it down the kitchen sink and burned up 3 apartments worth of ABS plumbing not counting his apartment. Then when it was time to paint the rocket he put it in the common garage area that he semi turned into a spray booth. The only problem was he didn't do anything to the roof rafter area and ended up painting three car to the right and three cars to the left of his common garage.

Try out 'skylighter.com'. Their primary thing is fireworks, but they have good tips and instructions for making black powder rockets safely and they sell all of the chemicals too.
Give them a look see.
