OK race fans. It's time to pre-register. If you are planning on racing at the Firetower Flyers race, I need you to pre-register.

Send me your info. Name, class you will fly in, 424, club 40, or both if you desire. Also your frequency number.

Send info to warpdrive03@aim.com

Things look bad for my race. Only 6 people pre-registered. Out of the 6, 2 have cancelled, and I have not heard from 3.

On top of the low number, the weather is looking bad. Rain and thunderstorms.

This is a sanctioned race and is in the AMA magazine. Even if the weather was good, we still need pilots to race.

I tried to get racing going in this area and it just hasn't worked. If you know of anyone that was planning on coming, please tell them to not bother.

The weather was the problem. It has been raining or blowing 15-25 mph almost every day for the past couple of months. We have gotten lucky a couple of weekends, but the post-drought raining has put a real damper on being able to fly.

The Auto Fair is at Lowe's Motor Speedway this weekend and rain is predicted for every day except Sunday. Talk about taking a loss.

I'm hoping the weather turns decent for the Fly-In at Lowe's on 4/12. I've spent a lot of money on fliers, and I worked really hard on the web site for registration. I just got the registration page online yesterday, but in light of the weather, I expect low registration. Even if you aren't in the Charlotte area, please take a look at my registration page at www.LowesRC.com ... If you are in the Charlotte area, or are planning to attend next weekend, please register.
