Ok. this is my first spad and I heard that a Fiji water bottle made a good tank.. I got one and it fits snug into the square pvc gutter pipe... my question is... with this fitting so snug I can't get my trottle cable past the tank.. where should I mount the servo? I thought about mounting it in front of the tank, but I wont be able to get to it without cutting an extra hole in the fuse above the servo.. Will this tank work or will I need to find a different tank?? The spad is a Deb...

put the servo behind the tank on the outside of the fuse and run some nyrod or somethingn up the outside of the fuse to get to the carb.. i have some of the bottle but haven't used one yet..

sometimes i can get the pushrod to go down the inside corner of the fuse which gets it past the tank.. this keeps the stuff in side the fuse. it might be a good idea to get some antenna sleeve or whatever it's called to act as a bushing so that the rod doesn't rub a hole in the tank.. it will act as a saw and eventually cut the bottle.

the sleeve i'm speaking of is used by the rc car guys.. they run their antenna wires up it.. works good for pushrod bushings.

just tape or glue a piece to the outside corner of the bottle before you slide it in the fuse. it will protect the tank and keep the pushrod from binding.

You can't see it very well, but my throttle servos on these are on the outside with a rod bent to the carb. I'll try to get a better photo.

I use a square Dubro tank installed sideways which gives just a little more room to slip a sleeve with a cable though to the firewall. You just have to bend your vent tube inside the tank to the side when making it up on the bench so when rotated 90 degrees in the gutterpipe it's pointing up.
