went on the redcat site to check out the online manuals and seen the "FM transmitter manual" and no AM.. yes might be a nub question but have no idea .. I also got an AM with my BB, so was just curious.

basically reception...

Turn on your stereo and tune into a local AM station, now swap and switch to a local station... basically the same for r/c.

its funny, i was thinking the same thing but i think the fm gets less interfearence, if you listen to an am and fm station, you can hear the crackle of a thunderstorm thats far away in am but not really in fm so i think thats why the fm has a farther distance and less interference.

I use FM. I'm soon to upgrade to 2.4 ghz spread spectrum which is even better than FM. The clarity you get of a signal with FM is why FM is the popular choice... well it used to be anyways. Since 2.4 ghz radios came out, FM radio demands have dropped and so have the prices. Mine is synthensized, meaning I can change channels by clicking a button on my radio, and turning a dial on my receiver... never again will I need a crystal.

i use them all, am, fm and 2.4 spektrum. Spektrum is by far superior but more money than the rest and you dont have to worry about someone else being on your frequency.

thats a good radio, its able to choose from like 30 channels. you'll be happy with it, spektrum 2.4 is just the latest thing out, thats all. dont worry.

Thats very true that AM can reach out much farther than FM but the FCC regulates what band and freaks we use and RC got the bottom of the barrel on AM
