DX3 will have the faster response time + the higher price because of the 2.4ghz.

I used to use the Dx2, replaced that with the Xs3. Glad I did.

Also the dx3 and xs3 are nearly the same minus the 2.4 ghz for the JR.

OK I know that 2.4 is better/ faster than the XS3, But for someone who only bashes around the neighborhood and runs the local track for fun, Is the cost worth it? I.E. if your not competitively racing your RC does the advantages of 2.4 outweigh the cost???? I have been looking at a XS3 for the ability to put all my trucks/ cars on one controller. I am a recreational driver and I go to races to watch those that CAN drive at that level, And they have top notch equipment. Yea they arent running RTR's like me, so for a guy like me is it cost effective to spend $250 to $350 on a radio when I can get the XS3 for $110 on ebay all day long. I am just asking for feedback/ oppinions what do you think????

Here is an interesting fact, some pro racers prefer FM over 2.4 because FM is faster. The main benefit of 2.4 is that it does not use a specfic channel, and because it uses a higher frequency there is supposedly less interference.

I would say go with the jr, its definetely enough radio for 99% of people, my xs3 pro has better range than the cheap losi 2.4 radios and has no problem going just as far as the spectrums and nomadios other than a 10th scale starts to get really small way out there anyway. The JR pro series is alot nicer crafted radio than a dx servies IMO.

I have the XS3 Pro but the spectrum is better mainly because its 2.4GHz so people wont be able to get on your channel or you wont get other interference.

Thanks for the feedback,,, I am going to get one and am leaning towards the JR just for price. My sponser ( MYSELF ) figures that it is enough for what I do. Thanks again,,,,, If anyone else wants to chime in though feel free.

I've used the XS3 for three years racing and it's a great radio. Never any problems whatsoever. Turned out I had all 30 Ch for myself since everyone went 2.4GHz.
The only annoying thing is the long antenna.

The XS3 can be had for $100 from A-Main right now. Can't go wrong with that.
JR XS3 for $99

Garrett1234567 - did you set the EPA and stuff?

G8TR FAN - I am switching from the JR XS3 Pro SYNTH FM to a Futaba 3PK 2.4GHz mainly for cost reasons. I could have easily gone with the Futaba 3PM, but the 3PK has more options.

One thing that the JR doesn't have is a Condition B. If I wanted to switch from 2WS to 4WS, I would have to switch to a different memory slot - off,on,off, on.

Something to think about.
