Would have put this on the main page so you guys had something to read but didn't want to get in the way of all the builds going on. ----Hey Blitz I told you I would post this when I got going on it----My son wanted me to see if I could come up with a remote control for his little video camera for on his tri-pod.A lot of times he goes fishing by himself and likes to video the fish he is fighting and it's hard to hold the camera while chasing the fish up and down the river bank,so he sets the camera on the tri-pod but had no way to move the camera to where he was fighting the fish.I got it all done except for the tray on top to hold the camera itself, have to finish that when he brings out the camera.I used one of the $15.00 dollar tanks I bought after taking out all the original guts and cutting down the turret, then used just part of the upper hull after cutting it down.wanted part of the turret for it had the gear assembly allready working and just had to add one of the old controls I had taken out of one of my 1/12 scale panzers and it's radio. The radio is small and he can keep that around his neck and just pushes the stick in what ever way he wants the camera to move.He told me to buy a remote was about $250.00 dollars, this one cost $15.00 dollars and will do the exact same thing.I thought this was pretty clever for an old guy. LOL BIGMIG----

Note can't get the picture to load will post shortly----BIGMIG

You are such a clever person. I bet it would be very interesting to really know most of the people who frequent this forum.

Thank You,
I should have also mentioned this tank did not have a elevation unit in it,could have also made it elevate if I had wanted but it is not required for what my son wanted. It also fits the quick release on the tri-pod,pull out the lever and its off ( 5 seconds)--set it back in and close the lever it's on (10 seconds). And it really locks in place, you can grab the base and pick up the whole works.

NOTE---Weight is not a problem Stuff---these new digital camera's are super small and weigh allmost nothing. The aux-charging jack sticks out the back of the turret, and the base just un-screws and everything comes apart just like a tank if work needs to be done. The movment for panning is just great, only thing is it will pick up the sound of the motor when panning.Might make the video's more interesting with the sound. Reguards-----BIGMIG

After cutting out the center section of this cheapie tank I was going to strip it for parts and get rid of the rest until I got the bright idea of trying to make it look something like a tank again, this is what happens when you have a sheet of plastic,a band saw, some super glue, and some bottles of paint.(don't match all that great and to lazy to repaint the whole tank).
Kind of ammazing how much inertainment I got out of this 15 dollar tank.I know it's not that great but it was fun to do and it kind of looks like a tank.I'm going to put the controls back in it and it will work and run again----pictures below----BIGMIG

I know we have good model crafters here on the forum, but for a lot of the critics that like to comment on my poor craftmanship and like to say all I build is junk-----Cut the center section out of a tank and give it a shot at turning it back into a tank and lets see how you do-----make sure you post the pictures as you go----LOL BIGMIG

My guess is not very many could even do it,or even try------
