so you used the original shafts from fs and taped them out thats what i was thinking about doing but was not to sure because the shaft are made from hard steel but now i know that works will be doing that mod to thanks pacrat keep it up this way we will be keeping fs alive and kicking (nice)and now we can give mcd a run for their money soryi should be easy on mcd besause if it was not for mcd we would not have this nice bit off kit in house anyway
so what gear raito are you using now then and what wheels

Yea use a good lock tight, Also, if you can use a pillar drill it will make life a lot easier, start of with a good quality small drill plenty of lubricant / oil and go up a couple of drill sizes each time, these shafts are HARD just take it nice and steady

Here are some of my FS MT. Not quite finished, but getting there. I had to create some of my own rear mounts and trim the body a bit to keep the rear wheels from hitting.

I have the original body as well

One more thing for you all, if you run the gears 27- 36 and 24 -25 on the buggy you can run fg marder wheels and tires which are bigger in diameter,
they give very good traction, also they increase ground clearence and look well on it!!

Here are some ratios from MCD... in the coloured off road one you have to substitute 19 & 30(old chart) gears for 24 & 25
Hope it helps
I when i get my gears i am going to try some of them out
Cheers

Fg Gears are 10mm inside diameter and will fit straight on to the shafts, lock them on to the flats by the grub screws, then go race!!

hi pacrat

I've just noticed that your gas pipes are way to close to your gear holder and clutch i think it would be better if you moved them because it can get very hot their and if you go with a alloy gear plate then their will be no plastic around the holding bolts between the clutch and the gear plate so that will get hot to and could melt the tubes when on the run and i don't think that will be a nice experience I'm not telling you that you have to but i would if i was you for your sake and the car
Bernie Bernie ouch boom ha ha told you so

well if you have the cn30 engine (4 bolt head) try a walbro wt 813 modified carb and a 2 1/2 inch DDM air filter and see the difference!!
really is worth it
