Now I have two problems if someone can help. Are there any other tires I can use on the road car like the MCDs? I tried putting my mcd on it and it can fit but the offset is way in and it does not match the body. Strange thing is the MCD tires look like new and the Cyclone tires are eaten up and way smaller. Bad quality on the tires. Is there any other option on using a mcd tire on the fs rims or only the mcd rims and tires only?

Second problem is there is a lot of slop in the steering, any thoughts?

Biggest problem is when you hit the gas on a rolling start when the powerband kicks in the car torque steers to the right.

By the way my MCD has none of these problems.

Help

hi how are your bearings holding up because i just heard from a mcd owner that he has to change them evry 4 weeks

That doesn't surprise me to be honest, especially if he's running steel gears, as the plastic ones seem to be VERY tight when they are new, so if it's the same with the steelies, they will be transferring shock and heat to the bearings. Bearings don't like shock or heat very much. It boils off the grease and then they die in short order. I'm expecting I may go through a few bearings myself, til I can get an alloy carrier, or the steel gears bed in nicely, whichever happens first.

rckiwi, as above, the bearings appear to be a different size. That's enough to make me not bother with the FS carrier, aside from any other potential incompatibility.

For Wheels/tyres(tires) on road, you can use any 1/5 type PMT, GRP any that fit a FG, Harm etc, they are same offset as FS, MCD have different offset but can still be used but look odd with std FS body.

Not 100% on the other Q's maybe someone else can shed some light!

To Foxy! The bearings mentioned inside diameter only not the outside as the shaft sizes are larger in MCD to FS, but was wanting to know if the outside is the same, then the MCD alloy plate from Vertigo could be used.

The MCD owner having to change bearings all the time must be fitting fs bearings
All the MCD owners I know in Aus (and I know a lot) have never had to change there bearings, even after 12 months of hard use.

From the get go the original single servo steering setup off my FS 4wd buggy had slop. From what I could tell, the servo screws securing the servo case to the radio plate were stripped. So whenever I initiated a steering it would move the whole servo case and cause it to twist about. A crappy mount will result in slop. Check this out on your car.

Compared to MCD, which uses 2 servos from stock, the FS racing buggy uses only one to push on the steering bellcrank. For a big scale heavier wheel application. 2 is better than one to allow for even torque distribution.

Maybe this has changed in later FS car versions because I see some guys (esp the trucks) have two servos from stock.

I think that's a typo, supposed to be 'worldwide shipping'.
