Thanks Kooktoyz, you posts and videos encouraged me to import FS to Egypt although I’m dealing with high end models and I’m dealing with FG since 1995 but I believe they are good value of money and we can offer something new.

Also thank for explaining wheel issue because when I saw their video I was deadly sure there is something wrong in the rear axial but I was not able to estimate s what is the wrong but Are you sure that they made changes in the wheel? because today they informed me they tested the plastic wheel and it is not broken easy, Frankly I don’t know if they are talking about new or old wheel. Do you know if FG MT wheels are compatible with FS truck

Last question, did you test the 30cc engine, as far as I know 23cc and 26cc are CY engine but regarding 30cc they mentioned is Japan engine without specifying the brand.

htawfik3,

As far as im aware all 5th scale wheels have the same 18mm mounting hub FG, FS & MCD so they are all cross compatable. The machines i have may be another clone ie not a FS buggy as i bought them from a source i met at shanghai fair in october they have changed the mould and fixed the wheel issue whether the FS wheel are the same or better i dont know???
For the engine the CY (chung yang) is a taiwanese engine which is supplied with a genuine walbro carb and ngk spark plug 23 26cc i think there is actually a 29cc also but may be a modded version? The 30cc engine is hseng which is chinese not japanese with walbro copy carb and no genuine ngk plug. Both these engine manufacturers are large and make good products these engines are originally for strimmers and have been tried and tested for years. There are other manufacturers out there but thats the ones i have.
We have both engines 30cc in the buggy and 26 in the truck but have not had enough test time to say which is best although the general asian rule of thumb is Japanese> taiwanese> chinese for build quality, and the fact the smaller 26cc taiwanese engine is $50 more expensive that the larger 30cc chinese engine must say something.
I hope with clears up some issues.

LATER

Cooltoyz,

Thanks for your explanation and clarify all issues, I believe I will go with 26cc engine and tuned pipe, but I’m still worry about wheel because it is obvious that they are week, I hope new wheels will produced by FS and I will not face problems, if not I will force to replace then with FG.

Far from GSW servos which you recommended to be replaced, do you recommended any point I should take it in consideration to assure successful launching of these models.

Thanks again for your help.

The hitec one rckiwi recommended early in this thread is going to resolve the issue but at a COST, we were only running on single servo's maybe the dual GWS can cope? Will find out soon my new order is shipping next week with dual GWS.
As for the wheels i spoke with my man in china today he has sent me 8 free wheels to replace the first ones. The old ones are exactly the same design as on the FS racing site which were rubbish. The chinese dont like to admit these things tho they will tell you anything to get your dollar lol.

I know that the MCD parts are interchangeable.

Thanks,
Matt

Well I recently bought the FS Racing 1/5th scale 4WD Monster truck and I have to say it is a lot of fun. There are a couple of things though that you should make sure to do with this particular truck.
1. The GWS S666 is a 208oz servo and I stripped one gear the first run so to avoid this go with a metal gear servo.
2. Get a better radio. I used the radio
3. Just get two servos for it. I got two GWS metal gear high TQ servos at 400 oz each at 6v. Steering is not a problem now.
4. Upgrade the steering servo to a higher TQ servo as well. It is an ok servo for the first few slow runs but once you really start to bash, it really has trouble stopping the car as well as it should. I just threw in a hitec 645mg I had laying around and now it stops fast.
5. From the factory for some reason it was tuned lean... just be smart and check the settings before you run the first time!!
6. Buy a better filter then the one that comes with it. I went with a 3" K&N cone type (not sure the make right now) and it gave the motor more life!!!
7. Get the tuned pipe!!!! You won’t be sorry!!! IT screams now.
8. I tried to replace a few parts with MCD like the lower front Y supports and they were different so beware of doing this.... it probably would help if someone close to a parts dealer of MCD had this truck and could post a compatibility chart!!!!!

For the money it is a great truck. Even with upgrades is less expensive the any other one out there. If you are going to order it let me know. I got someone in California who is a distributor and is excellent. If there is a mistake he is so fast in fixing it. He also has parts in the US for it so the wait isn’t as long for them. Right now he still orders the actual truck from China but it was 769 shipped for me.

This truck is a lot of fun and does take abuse well. It’s a great and fun buy!!

You guys are late to the party... LOL Check out the other FS threads.
It's an ok RC at the most. The stock 30.5 sucks. By the time you drop in something decent, you may as well have spent the extra $s and got a Carson Gas Devil.
There's nothing wrong with the servos. Just get a good 6V receiver pack. I'm using 7.4V lipos with a regulator. No issues, although the steering could be a bit stronger.
