Hi i have read on a few posts on coil upgrading can any explain what is required and benifits ?? My FS is a 4WD MT with the 30cc engine
thanks in advance

Hi, There has been alot of posts on here about the 30cc std engine having no power, I have experimented with them and find if you change the ignition coil they rev out alot harder, use a CY or Zenoah coil.

Cheers Bryan

The aluminum sheet I used was .125 (1/8”) thick. You will not only have to make the servo tray you will also have to make the mounts/posts that will support the tray. For the post I used 3/8” aluminum rods. I have only driven the car once and so far the tray is holding up just fine. I do not expect anything to go wrong with the servo tray it is real solid, unless of course I slam into something full throttle.

Bigstott@aol.com is where you can send it. I was kind of wondering about the ignition coil as to weather it was good enough bacause of the lack of power. I might get one here sooner or later but i need to get my diffs fixed or it wont be running at all!! I just finished pulling it all apart minus the motor, i cleaned it all up and checked the front diff and it looked good so i will be putting the front back together here in the next day or so. Got to redo the servo screw holes and put bigger ones there. I will be doing a tray as well but that again is down the road. I got rid of the alloy filter that came with it and got a nice one that goes on the MCD trucks and that helped the motor out quite a bit. I will let you all know how it works when i get it re-built and running.

Just go to DDM would be your best http://www.davesmotors.com/index.htm
Part No: EE421 C/Y
EE300 Zenoah

I have tried both coils and there seems to be a bit more with the Zen coil, but only a Dyno would tell you correctly!

Cheers

Thanks seems a resonable mod to do I did change the spark plug to a NGK one and seemed to start heaps better as for performace to me its ok but i will try and get the most out of it..thanks for link and part no.

Very true ..The last i looked they were out of stock no drama i will do a search thanks .Like2race,

Yes, I am using 3 Hitec servos. I made the servo tray myself out of a sheet of aluminum I had. However, you could buy one that is made for an MCD I sure it would fit, It may of may not need slight modification. LargeScaleRc sells them they just seem to be out of stock at the moment. You also might want to check any local MCD dealers they might have some as well. Below are the links to LargeScaleRc.com.

Sorry, after reading your post again and someone else’s post I realized you were asking which servos I used and not about the servo tray . I am using 3x HS-5745MG servos, this is the same set up I use in my MCD MT and it works great.

Pwaicon ..thanks again no problem will check it out
