I scratch build micro electric models using the 2-engines from RTF models.
( differential throttle for steering method)
I have been converting these motors to "pullers"
and mounting them on the wing lead-edge;as
opposed the trailing edge as they are out of the box.
I do it this way to get the center of gravity far enough forward,
but have found these models do
not turn nearly as quick as the RTF models.
Are motors at the back are more effective for turning?
Or is it because my models have proper wing airfoils?
Do you get more thrust with the motors at the trailing edge?

A lot would depend on what your model looks like. By theory they should work just as well.

Odd you mention this. I recently ripped apart a foam flying wing biplane that got crunched up some time back. Saved the motors and radio gear with the intention of putting it into an XB35'ish sort of flying wing to try again.
