Yes, I have had one for several years. It was originally on a BTE FlyinKing. I took it off of the FK after while because it stuck out the front so far. It has spent 95% of its life converted to Diesel.

I bought one a while back and I am going to put it on a 1/4 scale Laser 200. I like K&B, USA made, good quality. I haven't run this yet but if it runs like the other K&B's I have I'm sure it will be OK.

I like the mounting style - the muffler box mounts to the firewall with exhaust out the bottom. No expensive pipes to buy. How do intend to use yours?

I am curious about this engine. I always thought the muffler/ mount begged for a scale application. I'm sure you could gain more power with a different exhaust and I have wondered how it would respond to a pipe. I do think Mecoa has kind of priced it in the "too bad" category. I still wonder about the engine, but will probably never get to see one.

This version of the 100 is rather mild. It will not respond as well to a pipe as some other engines that are tuned a little hotter

I found one NIB on *bay. I also found the RCM engine review. Apparently they're timed a little racier than I thought. It looks like the muffler is very restricting. I'm collecting Balsa for a Big John biplane that I have plans for.

Here's the report if anyones interested.

Look under reviews.

I just opened it. Should I try loading it again?

I found it on the RCM plans website under reviews.

Just curious, where do you find the RCM engine reviews like this on the internet? My favorite part of RCM magazine was the engine column and reviews by C.F. Lee.

If you can load it then maybe something is wrong with my computer but I was just looking at a couple PDF manuals on the Tower site.

Thanks for the link to the RCM review Broken Wings. It would appear tha CF Lee seems to think it would respond very well to a pipe. I hope to get to find out someday.

Do you run one of these?

I noticed that the "outboard" and "fan" engines use different part numbers for the cylinders. It might be interesting.

For some reason I've always been attracted to somewhat "odd" model engines. It's a hobby right...

BW, if my Sweety doesn't keep me too busy and my Harley doesn't sit up and beg I may run mine both as a glow and as a Diesel just for some engine runnin fun. Mine has been boxed up and Corrosion Xed for a couple of years. I have some 5% fuel with 16% lube that I added 3 oz of castor to.
