All the site said was that it would be available soon, no specs. The 425 designation leads me to believe that it will be aimed directly at Align's Trex 500.

I wanna be the first kid on the block to have one.

Is the 550 huricanne that much bigger the the trex 500 I still don't know anayone who has one. I guess I just asumed the 550 was to compete with the 500?

I have the hurricane 550 and it is much larger than the trex 500. It comes stock with 500mm blades instead of 425's and can run 550's no problem. It also used standard servos and runs on 6 cell 3000-4000mah.

I have a 550 Its just that I haven't seen the 2 together the 550 is nearly as big as my 600 the tail is about 2 inches shorter the trex weighs twice as much but has size goes there close or at least closer than the 550 to a 450

Sorry guys - I beg to differ!!!

I don't think there is too much size difference beteen the hurricane 550 and the T-Rex 500 at all..

Given the blade difference - 424 vs 500 - the bodies physical size are fairly close - definitely not so much different to class the hurry as "much" bigger.
The hurry has an unusually long tail boom wich gives it a longer look and the canopy is a little bigger side on...

However - compare the nose-on photo of the two - you may start agreeing that they are in fact quite close.

The hurry is in red and the t-rex 500 in yellow...

The large white heli is a Raptor 50.... this is much more the sise of a t-rex 600, not the hurricane...

Of course the little one is a t-rex 450se

the H550 is much bigger than the T-500... try to swing 500mm blades on that little T-500.. the H550 is equal to a .30 size nitro.. the T-600 is equal to a .50nitro.

T-500:
●Length:850mm
●Height:310mm
●Main Blade Length:425mm
●Main Rotor Diameter:970mm
●Tail Rotor Diameter:200mm

H550:
Overall length: 1060mm
Main rotor diameter: 1110mm
Main blade length: 475~550mm
Tail rotor diameter: 222mm

now... as far as the H425.. yes, it is there to compete with the T-500... BUT, it's not worth it.. it uses the H550 gear train.. to much weight..

I don't have the trex 500 but I do have a lepton ex. I also have the 450 and a trex 600n. The size differences are about the same with every step up. the 500 size helis fill in a nice gap between the 450 and .30 (550) sizes. I'd have to say that the 550 is as much larger over the 500 as the 500 is over the 450.
