Status: offline 		Does anyone have experience with building the Zg-62 in a pica spitfire 1/5...?

I know the engine is slightly large for this bird, but I think I should be able to fit the carb and exhaust within the cowl (on the back of the motor)

Status: offline 		I don't think you can hide a G-62 inside the cowl of a spitfire. Its going to hang out someplace. Usually it's the muffler on one side and the carb on the other side. I have a Yellow spit and I know the G-62 will stick out. Its about the same size.
Just about any gas engine you stick in that plane will have a problem with some part of either the engine or muffler sticking out somewhere. That would include the rear intake type engines. I have researched this subject pretty well and I haven't found a solution yet. Atleast not if you need a muffler that actually muffles. Regards BobH.

Status: online 		A G-62 with a Toni Clark rear mounted "Piper" silencer and a carb "elbow" is about 160mm (6,3in) wide. Donīt know how wide the Pica spit is, but it might work.
The advantage of this setup is that the muffler actually muffles the engine, the air for the carb will be taken from the fuselage (and thereby further lowering the noise) and you will get a straight shot for your throttle linkage.

I don't now the measurements of the Zenoah 62 but maybe you can try the 3W50i.
Probably I also gone buy the 3W50i for my 1/5 BT Spitfire.

People told me that the ZDZ also is a good engine, but I don't have any experience with it.

Did you already have the Pica spitfire?
If you don't take a look at my site...there you can find more 1/5 Brian Taylor Spitfires...from the great people here on RCU.
